Bidrage med feedbackThe saving grace for this place is that they are the only place with beer and football while your friends are out on the slopes. They have a good selection of beer, and the nachos were very good but everything is overpriced. (Which I came to expect being at a snow lodge). The mountain of fries really is a mountain, but they definitely were not worth it. If they were fried for a few minutes longer they would have been worth the calories.
NOM NOM NOM (that's the sound I make after riding from First to Last chair here at the pub!! Getting out of Sierra is a BEAST. An even hairier, smellier, drool riddled beast at 4-6pm, so this is where you need to put your feet up, or fold your arms and bow your head for a pre-drive-home power nap (for those of us who are not local and traveling Hwy 50 EB. And especially on a powder day! The food? Awesomesauce!! Theres sandwiches, salads, pizza, pretzels, and curly fries. The food totally b*tchslaps the food offerings up at 360 Smokehouse BBQ. And much healthier options. The bar is fully stocked with all kinds of liquor and several beers on tap... The only thing I am TOTALLY pissed about this place is they stopped offering Blue Moon on tap, w/ a fresh slice of orange! They replaced it with an equally yummy beer called Tangerine, but its the beer version of a dessert wine, IMHO. I dont really like the other beers offered (sorry! Often when I am having a frustrating day in terms of my riding skills, I will end up here, the staff is gracious, attentive, they clear your tables quickly. Theres a great little balcony that seats more people than it appears and boasts front-row seats to the newbie hill for guaranteed endless entertainment of yard-sales and faceplants, and timid baby skiers going down the 2 percent grade all pizza style!!! hahaha!! Best of all, the tables outside have hanging heaters overhead, which provide a little extra warmth for those super chilly days. I've made friends out of strangers here, and the staff is just amazing... the best part is, usually at the end of the day on the weekends there is a live band, and it just makes the whole life of a ski/snowboarder bum(sorta-bum feel that much more awesome and fun. I love this place.
Considering they have waitresses and decently priced grub and booze, how bad could it be?
We were 5 thirsty tired skiers who came into the pub after a full day, and were really disappointed in he way the Bar MANAGER treated our husbands who just wanted to get beers hot cocoa for us. He his staff were completely rude after his shitty remarks, ignored our husbands (who are really patient courteous guys at the bar while they waited for about 10 minutes. (what was the point?! Really sucks to be treated that way we were sober, well behaved, NICE people. A horrible experince. He really had a nasty attitude. A total jerk. Everyone else at Sierra was top notch, we can't say enough about the warm, professional, efficient generous way they conducted themselves. Maybe they can give this guy a refresher in getting along with others. We'll never go to the Pub again.
When going to a ski resort, you'd expect food to be a little pricier than normal, and not the same quality as a restaurant...with that in mind, Sierra Pub is a good place to take that mid day break and grab some bar bites and a beer. Stopped by here with Amy T. during a Tahoe snowboarding trip to Sierra and popped in around lunch time. We were able to order pretty quickly despite it being PACKED (football Sunday... . The folks at the bar were nice I got a burger, fries, and a local Hazy IPA. The burger was super juicy and I scarfed it down immediately, being hungry from snow activities. Fries were pretty standard, and the beer tasted great. Again, yes it is expensive, and standards were lowered, but for what it is in the snowy conditions, it was a great meal.
