Bidrage med feedbackWe fell upon this restaurant by chance. Well what a surprise! Such excellent customer friendly service. Food was so different, tasty and just fantastic. Will definitely be going back
A group of nine of us visited that night for dinner, and enjoyed some really good homely Polish food. Ham hocks we’re tender and tasty, also huge but they were happy to pack a doggy bag for you to take away. Dumplings also fresh and tasty, again large portions but you can ask for a half portion. I didn’t tase the pork neck, but it was a hit with one of our party and she cleaned her plate. Most of us had a dessert, baked cheesecake with a toasted coconut topping was gorgeous, pancakes stuffed with apple were also good was told by the 3 that had them. Staff very lovely and friendly, maybe a little slow to clear the table and offer more drinks, but this is a small very laid back family place, so it didn’t worry us. Spotlessly clean and rustic decoration, so all in all a really enjoyable evening, and very reasonable price, we will all be eating here regularly form now on.
Long awaiting for drinks not friendly staff and meals without any taste. I will not recommended for friends.
We went to Polka twice last week, and were very impressed: the Bigos (meat and sauerkraut stew) was very tasty, there wasn't anything vinegary about it at all. The dumplings (Pierogi) were very filling, and the pork neck (Karkowka) was very good too. Portions are huge, and value is very good on both occasions our bill for two meals, a bottle of wine and some water, was around thirty pounds. Much is made of the cultural change in England over the last few decades, this restaurant shows that those coming from Poland have something special by way of cuisine they can share with us. If in the area again we'll be very happy to go back and, indeed, to try Polish cuisine elsewhere: I may even try to cook some Bigos myself at home. When we visited their credit card machine was not working, cashpoints are available close by in Holbeach.
The restaurant is clean and brightly decorated with a little background music.Toilets are clean but there are two steps for anyone with walking difficulties. The dishes are mainly pork with the odd chicken dish. The portions are huge so make sure you are hungry! If you have a small appetite you can ask for a half portion. Prices are very reasonable and they have a children 's menu of chicken nuggets or fish fingers with chips. Drinks menu is basic, beer or red/white wine and soft drinks. For smokers there is a covered outside area. Staff are pleasant and are happy to give you a 'doggy bag ' for leftovers. We will visit again.
