Billykart - South Brisbane

I went to dinner at Billy Kart last night with my business colleague. I’ve been a fan of Ben for many years since Surfing the Menu. Let me tell you the food did not disappoint! Every mouthful was incredible. I had the beef tartare for entree followed by the Moreton Bay bug spaghetti. Hands down the best version of those dishes I have ever tasted. I can’t recommend that spaghetti dish highly enough. Ben cooked the meals so felt very privileged, and even though there were good numbers of guests, the quality was not compromised at all and the meals came out in good timing. Can’t wait to go back. Please support this Aussie legend and give it a go!

Loved everything about this restaurant! The food was some of the best we've had in many Brisbane restaurants with a nice relaxed atmosphere. Friendly comfortable service. Highly recommended.

Last minute pop in and the staff and service was exceptional and the food lovely and fresh. Real care is given to all aspects of this restaurant. The dishes were beautifully presented. Great pre or post theatre spot.

Haven’t stayed in this part of Brisbane before today so the west end was a new experience. We decided on billykart for dinner and it is well worth a visit. We started with the spanner crab soufflé and the kingfish both of which were well presented and tasty. We both opted for the fish special which was Murray Cod this is not a fish I had tried before and it wasn’t quite as tasty as I had hoped. That isn’t to say it wasn’t a good dish because it was although my only criticism is that it came with tiny olives which were hard to spot and would crack a tooth if crunched. Dessert was the tart au citron which was lovely but the clotted cream was a mistake not sure if it was over clotted but it could have been a slab of butter thankfully the tart didn’t need it. Service was prompt an efficient and the food is really good so if you are in west end and fancy a quality meal give it a go.

Not a very clean Cafe Partner ordered a green juice cost $8 and it was poured out of a $3 bottle into a coffee cup I ordered an ice long black thought it was fine although it had a lovely surprise with fly in the drink We threw both our drinks in the bin straight away , I understand flies are everywhere on hot days but they are alot less if the area is clean Overall review over priced , unhygienic would rate it a zero if possible
