Bidrage med feedbackI ordered the Mix plate with salmon and ahi tuna in a shoyu marinade. While the fish quality wasn't quite up to par with what you'd find in Hawaii, the flavors were on point. I appreciated the simple toppings that allowed the fish to shine, and the cucumber kimchi and green salad provided a nice crunch to complement the tender, well-marinated fish. My favorite dish was the BBQ Salmon Gohan Special. A bowl of rice topped with shredded BBQ salmon combined the rich flavors of salmon belly fat with the sweet notes of barbecue sauce. Each bite was a delight, packed with satisfying and flavorful components. I also tried the Mochiko Fried Chicken, which was a bit on the dry side, but still decent. What sets Manoa apart from other poke spots in the area is its dedication to authenticity rather than modern fusion twists. If you're in search of a true, unadulterated poke experience that will transport you to Hawaii, Manoa Poke Shop is the perfect spot for you.
I go here a lot since I moved here from Hawaii, this is the closest source of food that tastes similar to home. I can’t eat seafood but their Mochiko Fried Chicken and Kailua Pork are immaculate 10/10
This restaurant is a hidden gem that offers genuine Hawaiian flavors in Boston. All dishes are freshly made to order and come in generous portions. I particularly enjoyed how the mixed plates are presented on a bed of lettuce. Seating is limited, but the quality remains top-notch for takeout orders. Make sure to check their website for updated hours, as they may change weekly.
Spicy Tuna PokeOka poke (traditional, Samoan style)Unlike those who say that you really don't get much for what you pay, we actually thought that the Hawaiian bowls were pretty fairly priced for the amount of fish we received... In fact, we honestly felt that there was way too much fish for our liking, and prefer more rice and mix-ins than all that Spicy Tuna and Oka. Also, the Macaroni Salad was overrated and just plain bland. I think we paid about $40 total, and moving forward, would rather get our poke bowls from Love Art Sushi in Boston. 3.5 rating
This place simultaneously ruined fried chicken and tuna for me because of how good it is, no other place (poke or not) can come close to how incredible their food is. I’ve been waiting 3 years to eat here because I’ve been living in Texas and it was well worth the wait. The portion sizes are huge, the sides are incredible and the people who work here are so kind. Telling people about how great Manoa is is now a new personality trait.
