Bidrage med feedbackLocated at the entrance of Aptekarsky Ogorod botanical garden, this small fast food café offers a cozy atmosphere and a vast selection of dumplings. Customers can choose from a variety of options, including the dish of the day. The dumplings are tasty, and patrons have the option to purchase frozen ones to take home. However, drinks must be paid for separately at the bar, with prices on the higher side. Overall, not a bad place to grab a quick bite to eat.
I have already reviewed another location of this chain at Pereulok Stoleshnikov, and now I have tried this one. The restaurant offers a larger selection of specials and features a more unique decor. It is a local chain owned by two Russian men and is a fantastic place to dine. The pelmeni, with a modern twist, were delicious, both savory and sweet varieties. We also enjoyed the cabbage, beetroot, and herring salads, all of which were very tasty. The soups were also delicious. It was exciting to watch the staff roll and form the pelmeni right in front of us. You will not be disappointed dining here.
If you love pasta, then this is definitely the best place to visit. It was truly amazing. It's hard to find good Russian pelmeni, but this restaurant was a pleasant surprise. The prices are great too. Highly recommended!
Overall, the dumplings were nice. I ordered Mom's Siberian, Italians in Russia, and Alexandr Grigorich. The Siberians were great, and I couldn't eat those fast enough. The Alexandr Grigorich also had a nice taste, but were lacking in filling. I decided to also try something a little different, so I went with the Italians in Russia, but I wasn't too impressed with those. But again, the meal had a nice flavor. Still, I am not sure if it was all of the dumplings are maybe the Italian ones, but there was a very strong garlic flavor to them. This was so strong that I still tasted garlic in my mouth one hour after I was finished with my meal, and had to get a Starbucks to cleanse my palette. The atmosphere inside was nice and clean, but was very hot. Even though there is a heat wave in Moscow during my trip, the restaurant was easily 10 F warmer inside, making it quite unpleasant. Some air circulation during warm or hot days would be nice
Accidentally popped into this small place for lunch. Lepim i Varim is like the Russian version of Starbucks. Instead of coming for coffee, diners devour the handmade, freshly prepared pelmeni. This small eatery offers a variety of dumplings from classic pork and beef to seafood options. All of them are delicious, especially the lamb and crab ones. The seats are very cozy. Staff is nice and price is cheap.
