Bidrage med feedbackI dined at this restaurant because I was staying at the hotel. The menu was okay but limited. I ended up choosing a burger as nothing really stood out to me. It was decent, not the worst burger I've ever had, but definitely not worth the £14 I paid for it. The restaurant itself was alright, but the high bar prices only made the already overpriced meal worse. The food looked okay and tasted okay, but I wouldn't come back for it. If you're staying at the hotel for one night, it's a convenient option. I can't imagine anyone choosing to dine here for any other reason. I stayed at the hotel for three nights and ate out at other local restaurants for the other two nights, which I'm glad I did.
The grill at the Village Hotel has recently rebranded itself and now offers a menu with a decent selection. However, the food is just average and nothing to rave about. It might be worth trying the nearby Miller Carter grill, which offers similar prices but much higher quality food.
We haven't been to this restaurant in a while, but when we were gym members, we couldn't stay away. They offer different themes and menus for different nights, making it a great place to bring friends. The staff is excellent, and the Sunday carvery is unmatched by any other restaurant.
We arrived back late around 8pm and had just missed out on the Friday burger special for £1.00 ended at 7.30 pm. So decided not to have the burger at the now price of £8.95 so order Fish and chips and a chicken wrap. Fish was quite bland, thin and tasteless but chips were delicious and in plentiful supply. The lad who served us was pleasant, polite and asked if everything was ok we decided not to complain as he was so nice. However at £10.95 for fish and chips its a bit steep for what it was. Our biggest gripe here is the cost of drinks and yet again we were not disappointed by the charges think by now we should have learned not to drink here but its only advantage is you do not have to drive whilst staying here. We ordered two Pina Coladas which was on a very large specials board behind the bar at £4.95 each only for the girl to ask for £12.00. When I questioned it she just said, sorry its now our new menu and that 's the price on the till. I said I was not interested in the cost n the till and pointed out the huge bill poster with the prices on only to be told I will see what I can do !! What I said you will charge me the advertised price that 's what you will do whereupon she gave me the difference in cost out of the till. I then went back to order a pint of Lager shandy only to see her put in the cost of the pint of Budweiser at £4.15, followed by a £0.70 splash cost for lemonade. I questioned what was the £0.70p for to be told its for the extra lemonade but I explained she had put in more than half a pint of lemonade and toped it up with Lager so I had not had a full pint of Lager not even a full half pint. She spoke to a lad behind the bar who said sorry its what we have to do on the till So a pint of Lager costs £4.15 a Pint and a Lager shandy using much less lager and watered down lemonade costs £4.85 an absolute joke and believe me next time will NOT BE DRINKINK HERE AGAIN What a complete Rip off
We have just come back from a fantastic Sunday lunch at the Verve Grill, Village Hotel, Solihull. It's £14.99 for adults and kids eat free. An amazing array of starters including prawns, smoked salmon, pate, cold meat platter. The starters are displayed beautifully and you can try everything. Delicious fresh bread. Then an outstanding carvery, quality meat (turkey, beef and gammon) and a variety fresh vegetables. The vegetables deserve a special mention as they were perfectly cooked and continuously refreshed. Amazing homemade gravy too. To finish, another beautifully presented table with freshly made waffles and an ice cream machine with a variety of sprinkles. The best chocolate mousse ever and a zesty lemon cheesecake were also available or selection of fresh fruit salads. You simply can't beat this for value for money on a Sunday family friendly, a comfortable room, attentive staff, easy parking and fabulous food. A brilliant experience all round. Highly recommended!
