Black Jaxx Barbeque - Soldotna

Never went to Soldotna location, I live near Homer. I decided to give it a try one day, with low expectations, since others on the peninsula have been fair at best......Black Jaxx is Best BBQ on Kenai peninsula, maybe the state! Ribs are some of the tastiest I've eaten, and I've eaten ribs in many different locations in the U.S. I'm not much of a sauce fan, BBQ meat should be able to stand in its own, which this does, but even the sauce is excellent, along with their beans. They also sell the rub and sauces if you like to smoke your own. Looking forward to my next dinner there.....

Found a GREAT new place for BBQ in town since Firehouse BBQ was such a let down. It 's drive through and although they were out of all meat except the brisket, I took that as a good sign. I was right, it was wonderful. The brisket was full of flavor, not dried out, and the bbq sauce is just the icing on the cake. It 's full bodied, smokey, a little on the sweet side, but fantastic. The beans are tasty and the potato salad is even better. Tastes like mom 's homemade. After a long fishing weekend we were so hungry for something good and hardy on the go and NOT fast food. Bingo! We scored today. Can 't wait to go back and get some other things.

Yall, the brisket was amazing. the bark was flavorful and the meat was moist. the seasoning on the ribs was just right. reminded me of some good southern smoked meats. is divine. i am touring all the smoked meat places in Soldotna, so far Black Jaxx blows the competition away. The prices for the two group/family meal options, for what you get, are absolutely reasonable. Prepare to drool while you wait in the drive-thru only line at their smokehouse.

Best BBQ in Alaska can be found in soldotna! Super fast service, amazing bbq meat, and some of the best bbq sauce I've ever had.!
