Whale’s Rub Pub & Sointula Liquor Store

I had a great time mingling with the locals at this pub. The food was simple and delicious. Just be aware that the pub doesn't open until late afternoon.

Both Ray and Robin, the owners, have been extremely welcoming, hospitable, and helpful both times I have stayed here. The first time was about 4 years ago and again recently (Sept 5-7). They also offered me a great deal on the room when I had to stay a couple of extra days due to a problem. The water here is possibly the best I have ever experienced. I would not hesitate to highly recommend The Whales Rub Pub as an excellent place to stay in Sointula.

Cool bar with a variety of logging and fishing items displayed on the walls. Menu is simple. Smoking is still permitted on the outdoor patio.

There is very friendly staff, beautiful peaceful ocean views from the deck esp as the sun sets, excellent food.

We were staying in the hotel and they told us the WiFi was not working in the room but was in the pub and they would open it for us. We took advantage as we had never had a pub open just for us! We were directed to a table in the sun room looking right out over the ocean. What a spectacular place to enjoy a beer. We did not use the WiFi as we were to busy enjoying the view! :-)
