Barbecue Provision Company - Smithfield

Had a pulled pork sandwich and the Mac and cheese. The sandwich was quite good. The Mac and cheese was advertised as jalapeño but there were no jalapeños in it. The restaurant itself is pretty underwhelming and the floor is really slick/greasy.

Solid BBQ option in an unsuspecting location. Great flavors and value all around, maybe a place to drop off hungry dad while the ladies get their shopping done? but then again, mom probably wants her mac n cheese fix too!

Great food! Great people! You will definitely need a to-go box! Yall should go check them out!

The name: In small letters it says Barbecue Provision Company and then in large letters it says Southern Smokehouse BBQ which is what I thought the name was so finding it on Yelp was confusing. When you step in the smell is wonderful.... you just want to eat inside instead of outside even though the day was sunny and bright. The cashier was friendly and helpful in explaining the different menu items. I got the Texas Brisket with slaw $11.50) and my friend got the brisket sandwich. I am not a big meat person but I do like a good Brisket. Mine was very tender but if it wasn't for the sauce there really was no flavor from the meat. They only had two sauces, the same, one hot, one not. The coleslaw was bland and not creamy. The large cornbread muffin was very good. My friend liked her sandwich very much. We saw that they had pork tacos and chili and said we would try them next time. They have one size of drink for $3.50. Everyone was very nice and the place clean.

While shopping at the Carolina Premium Outlet, we chose to eat at the Southern Smokehouse BBQ restaurant. The restaurant started serving at 11 a.m. We arrived at 1 p.m. Sold out ribs since we came late. The workers were pleasant, courteous, efficient, attentive, and not intrusive. The coleslaw and potato salad tasted homemade. Besides ordering for eat-in, we placed an order to go of sausage and brisket. All our orders came with a giant cornbread muffin. I felt that the staff went above and beyond to make this a memorable experience for us. When we return to Smithfield, this will be our first stop to eat.
