Vera's Seafood - Slidell

What an amazing food and service. I was visited by Savannah a large server that showed me the best in the menu. I tried the Gumbo soup!!! Incredible!!! What a taste! Also the Portchatrain Pasta, a poem of taste, the Po boys are good, I have not yet tried them in another place. I will try again to this place every time I am in town

I had a fantastic meal here and the waitress was very nice. She told me why they had a statue of a rat. I enjoyed hearing the story. I definitely enjoyed my lunch here.

Had a delicious lunch at Vera's Seafood on Valentine's Day. Parking is easy to find and sitting on a table was immediately. They offered affordable lunch specialties in the selection $10-$12 as well as their regular menu items. We started with an appetizer from Spinach and Crab Di. The serving size was large (top for 3 people easy). It comes with bright and fluffy grilled bread. My only complaint is that it is NOT enough to eat bread with the whole dish! We asked more bread and got it much later when we ate our meals. I ordered the black shrimp tacos! These shrimps are DIVINE! It was two FULLY LOADED with shrimp Tacos!! They use a spicy sauce above... I had asked the waitress if it was very spicy and she said no... now it was extremely spicy for me. I wiped everything! They used purple cabbage with the shrimp tacos instead of salad. I would marinate the cabbage so it would offer some taste and be a little softer. Just my opinion. Even more, these were the BEST shrimp tacos I had in Slidell, Louisiana!! And I can't forget my drink... I usually order water with lemon, but not today! It's Valentine's Day and Hubby paid to order sweetie. Vera has her sweet tea in a science! If you want a taste of Southern Hospitality, then order your SWEET TEA! Not too much, not too little sugar and enough ice cream to ensure that every drop of tea is nicely cooled. Your tea will smile at a Southern Man and make a Southern Lady blush! Well done! Large tasting seafood at reasonable prices. Service was excellent.

Great food and service today. We had limited time for lunch in order to make our movie time. I called ahead and inquired if I could preorder and dine in. They were accommodating. Dishes ordered: Shrimp poboy and Caesar salad with fried oysters. Only negative is that I didn't care for their Caesar dressing. They were extra generous with the shrimp portion.
