Shivas - Sintra

Went to this bar a couple weeks ago and waited until today to cool down my head. Unfortunately, my experience at this bar wasn’t a pleasant one. At the time of visit, I asked for two coffees with a little more hot water, like an Americano. Me and my wife drank our coffees calmly when a group of noisy lads enter the bar and greet the bartender. So far so good, until they sit on the table next to ours and start watching porn on their smartphones. The bartender didn’t even bother to check why his friends were laughing so loudly while showing their smartphones to each other. We tried to ignore it and enjoy the rest of our evening. When I go to pay the bill, the same bartender charge us twice as much the price of a normal coffee just because of the extra water. When I complain and ask to see the menu with the prices to confirm it, he says they didn’t had that type of drink registered but it was the fair price they had to charge me for what I asked. Then I said they should have warned me they didn’t had that type of drink and he tells me “the next time we won’t serve you one”, then I asked for the receipt to see what he had registered in the computer, the bartender says f in front of me and my wife, hands me the receipt and goes away. When I read the receipt, he had registered 4 coffees when we only asked for two with extra water.

I enjoy visiting bars because I normally meet local people who are interested in conversation. Shivas is a cozy spot for a drink or beer. We stayed close by and I enjoyed going for a late evening drink. The staff/owners spoke enough English for me to chat with them. Lots of younger people smoking hookahs. I was made welcome. I don't understand the negative reviews, it was very busy. Mamaste!

Nice place in the new part of Sintra with women from different parts of the world coming to relax and looking for a Shiva to take them to Heaven! Nice place in the middle of the new part of Sintra with good music and good shish!

The staff is really friendly and the shisha was good. Strongly recomend it. There you can see more locals than tourists.

Don’t bother going here. The shisha although cheap was absolutely terrible. Tasted as if it has not been cleaned for ages and was disgusting. Drinks were also cheap but terrible. Really disappointing
