Vegetarian restaurant coffeeshop style , variety of menus from economical veggies and dishes to local fares such as kway chap, laksa etc. Kopi o so so average only.
My friend recommended this restaurant and I decided to give it a try. The atmosphere is bright and airy, with good spacing between tables so it doesn't feel cluttered. The laksa was okay, a bit oily and the ingredients were limited to fried taupok, beansprouts, and fish cake. I didn't know you could add on vegetables or char siew. Overall, for $3.50, I can't complain. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but if you're vegetarian and in the area, why not give it a shot.
The hawker-style vegetarian food at this restaurant is really nice, with their vegetarian laksa being a standout dish. I was recommended to try it by a non-vegetarian friend, who confirmed that the broth was delicious and lived up to the standard version. The laksa was rich and creamy, with a good amount of spices. I added red chilis for a bit of heat, which complemented the creamy broth well. The bowl was filled with large rectangles of tofu, white noodles, and fresh veggies. I also learned that they have a tasty vegetarian lor mee available only on Saturdays, which I returned to try the following week. The lor mee had a dark and flavorful slightly thicker soup, yellow noodles, bamboo shoots, and three types of tofu pieces. I added chilis for an extra kick of spice. The staff was friendly and efficient, keeping the queue moving smoothly. The covered outdoor hawker seating allowed me to enjoy the view and breeze while dining.
I enjoyed delicious and affordable vegetarian dishes at this restaurant. The laksa was particularly good, priced at $3.50.
