Five Star Kampung Chicken Rice Kitchen (cheong Chin Nam)

I'm not a big fan of steam chicken but Five star made it really good that I was impressed with the taste and so as the presentation when it was served. Dining area looks clean. Staff are fast and efficient. If you come in a group and share assorted dishes, it makes the price more affordable.

7 April 2022 Always enjoy dining here. Last night I had the chicken rice, seafood hor fun, salted egg pork ribs, prawn roll, sotong sambal and kangkong belachan. All dishes were great especially the prawn roll and sotong sambal. Definitely worth repeat visits. . I dined again on 28 April 2022 evening. Once again great food and excellent service. Ordered the sweet and sour pork and it was also great. I shall be back again.

Recently everyone is eating chicken rice in Singapore for fear of no nice hainanese chicken rice from June 2022, so we decided to join in the crowd and go to one of our favourite chicken rice place. Five star chicken has maintained it's standard and the rice is fragrant (and not too soft/crumbly). The restaurant still had seats when we arrived but it filled up and there were people queuing when we left. The zi char dishes here are also quite good.

Good and trusty chicken rice along Bt Timah street. Chicken portion could be more but the rice (with garlic sauce) and stir fried veg and tofu were great!

5 stars for the consistent bad chicken rice all these years.It really goes thru the test of time and manages to retain the same taste grainy Dry chicken,salty sauce and almost bland rice since I tried 15 years ago.
