Bidrage med feedbackFirst time trying Eng’s wanton mee. Had the $5 big portion. Ingredients not as much as I have expected. However, can be compensated by the taste which is good. Soup is pretty delicious. Noodles are springy. Constant crowd during peak hours.
This restaurant has been a long-time favorite of mine, even if some people consider it just average. The noodles are delicious, and the wantons are meaty and succulent. Just be cautious with the chili sauce, as it is very spicy unless you're accustomed to intense heat. I highly recommend it to all serious Wanton Mee enthusiasts!
The noodles were tasty and fresh—perfectly QQ, smooth, and delicious. I ordered the Dry You Mian set along with the prawn Ngoh Hiang as a side dish, and the flavors were fantastic! Even the small bowl of vegetable soup that came with the meal was surprisingly good. The chili is self-service, so you can add as much as you like, but be cautious with the chili flakes; they are quite spicy! Overall, I give it a thumbs up: 5 out of 5 stars!
I was surprised to discover an Eng's Wanton Noodle outlet in this location. It's a popular brand, well-known for its shop in Tanjong Katong, and many people are likely familiar with it. For me, it’s the familiar taste and texture that keeps me returning for more. This outlet in the basement of Eastpoint Mall also offers Wu Xiang Xia Bing, or Five Spice Prawn Fritters, which are fresh and expertly prepared.
