Bidrage med feedbackHad the chance to try their Pork Steak, the meat was tender, paired with their brown sauce, definitely a delight. Got some light sides along as well, mushroom soup and some fries. For the price, it’s one of the valued for money western food in SG.
Tried their mushroom risotto with tinge of truffle oil. The risotto is soft, smooth and blend well with the mushroom and bits of vinegar salad. The pork chop is tender and match well with the mashed potato. Reasonable price as usual
Not a bad place for Western cravings! Came here on a weekday night during peak hours and had my carbonara served in about 5 mins the sauce was probably pre-made but it was good. The sauce was slightly sweet though, not sure why. The creaminess was also complimented by the sous vide egg. Perfect! I do think the amount of onions can get a little overwhelming for some. Onion rings were really average. Probably wouldn't order again. This is an above average eatery with restaurant-like pricing. If they could adjust the price a little I'd probably have to fight to wait for the food to be served. That said, I'd return again. Note that the other stalls don't open at night, so you cannot get your teh/kopi fix. However, TCB serves a killer iced lemon tea.
Ordered their battered fish and chips. Portion is decent but for $12 a bit over price as it’s coffeeshop setting, abundant fries though. Fish is not oily which is good but I find that it lacks a bit of flavour. Service is fast and ample seating. Their saving grace is Blanc and Asahi on tap. A must to wash down the food. To be fair to them, I haven’t tried the steaks which I will review next time.
Possibly one of the best kept secret in the west. The Carving Board serves restaurant quality, unpretentious, delicious western mains. Although some have commented that prices have increased, I still find them value for money if you can overlook the fact that they are located within a 'coffeeshop ' setting. I find it hard to pick a standout dish as most of them are tantalizingly tasty The grilled chicken with the brown sauce and beans is a fine example of what sets them apart from the competition, and other crowd favorites would be the Pork Steak (Absolutely tender and bursting with flavour , and the Ribeye Steak (Value for money! . I have returned many times and found that the quality is fairly consistent, kudos to the TCB team!
