Bidrage med feedbackSiena is not a maritime place, yet this restaurant delivered exceptionally well on the fish side. Very attentive service, great ambience and a good bottle of wine. Quality food all round. In a wee alley in the city centre. Parking could be a nightmare.
14 of us dined here the day after the thrilling Palio on an organised trip with the wonderful Hedonistic Hiking We were treated to a seafood extravaganza in the private dining room with exceptional Tuscan wines both white and red Attentive but not intrusive service with each dish presented immaculately including clams prawns and sea bass with a semifreddo to finish plus limoncellos First rate and worth seeking out if in Sienna
Seafood at its best. Alessandro and his team catered us with excellent food and outstanding regional white wine. Worth a try!
This restaurant came highly recommended in a book about Italian hill towns but we had a very average meal. The cheese and salami was well chosen. The pasta and sauce were tasty but the main courses were disappointing, especially the huge lump of white rubber that came as part of a seafood trinity. The squid was scarcely better.
After essentially doing a food tour of tuscany, this restaurant stood out as one of mine and my partners favourites in terms of food and all round experience. Tucked away from the madding crowd in a back street in Siena, this restaurant is primarily a seafood restaurant, their house special being a selection of raw fish. The waiters were excellent, spoke perfect English and had a clear and infectious passion for the food they served. We chose the squid and shrimp sharing platter for starters, then my boyfriend had the seabass and I chose the catch of the day (seabream) with seasonal veg. The food was lovely, the first fish we 'd had in italy, made simply but tastefully. The waiters also gave us a tasting starter each as is traditional for the restaurant. They also gave us two glasses of lemoncelo on the house at the end of the meal just so we could stay a bit longer to sit and enjoy the balmy tuscan evening. All in all a wonderful restaurant and a must visit if passing through Siena.
