Bidrage med feedbackIt’s our third time spending the summer holidays in this little village with beautiful beaches and amazing water quality. However the first dinner had to be done at Gallo D’Oro a restaurant with three generations in place. Grandma with husband and the son are working the kitchen, you can literally taste the over generations established perfection of the dishes. And the grandson und his grandfather are sharing the service, what a wonderful experience. Not only the home made pasta and variety of sauces that come with them, but also the carefully sauced fish and seafood dishes are cooked all to perfection. I can’t praise this place enough, the taste of any of their dishes and atmosphere are one of the best you can experience in a truly family run restaurant. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality
When you step in the Trattoria del Gallo d'oro you are back in the fifties, the trattoria has the original furniture and atmosphere of those times. The pasta is handmade on the premises fresh every day, the dishes are told to the guests,no menu, Francesco the grandfather is the real soul of the place! Don't miss this, book in advance and enjoy!
I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant for the first time,after living in Siderno for a few years,it is small(only 8 tables)so it is best if you book, you will not be disappointed. Fresh paste made in house and a nice choice we had pasta nera with seppia sauce, yum. Second we all had different, 1 meatballs, 1 roast pork and salad, 1 stuffed anchovies, and 2 Calamari, we were all very taken with the meals and service. The owner and chef comes out personally and takes your order. Would highly recommend this small restaurant, and will be returning soon.
Trattoria Gallo d'oro Siderno is as close to home cooked Calabrian food. I went for pranzo and had a the multiple courses. Outstanding and I will go again when I return.
Incredible handmade pastas. No menu, just the head chef who comes around and introduces the table to the options. Order each course at a time. We were stuffed by the pasta alone but heard the secondo was amazing too. Chef gives you the option to pick your pasta noodle type and what sauce you'd like to pair it with. I went with ravioli with the eggplant tomato sauce incredible.
