Best croissants in Chicago. Like going to France, but it's in Old Town. La Fournette's authentic French pastries and baked goods are phenomenal. Fresh, varied, and always delight. Nice, but croissants and other pastries are too dark (over baked or oven temperature too high). It's really a pity because the pastry itself is good, but the dark brown top layers spoil the taste. Croissants should be golden brown.

I will never come to Chicago without stopping in. Amazing!

I'm visiting from Seattle which has it's fair share of French bakeries. I have to say, La Fournette is the closest to the real thing that I've had stateside. The foodstuffs and the coffee are AMAZING.
