Pheasant At Neenton - Shropshire

Visited with my husband on a Saturday lunchtime, the pub itself is lovely with a log burner and it's dog friendly. The staff were polite and helpful. The food is good quality however its also a bit on the pricey side. As this was a special occasion that wasn't the problem, I just don't expect to pay nearly £80 for lunch and feel hungry still. The portions are far too small even offering a side of potatoes/vegetables as standard would have been better (instead of charging £4 per side).

It was our first visit to the Pheasant, and is somewhere we’ve always wanted to try. We went there for Sunday lunch and found it to be a very pleasant experience overall. The pub is everything you expect from a traditional countryside pub, and the service and food are of a good standard. The only negative was the cost, which was £16.50 for one course, which means that we wouldn’t eat there on a regular basis because there are other places in the area that are much more affordable. Having said which, we would eat there again because it was nice overall.

Amazing food the beef was tender veg was cooked to perfection will be back every Sunday. Easily the best Sunday lunch ever.

Went with a group of friends and ordered a fish dish with Pak choy in a sauce for £19. I presumed it would come with some kind of potatoes or chips but it was literally a piece of fish and one bit of vegetable. To be fair the menu didn't state it came with anything so I wish I had have had the steak for £1 extra which came with chips and would have left me full. It just felt a bit of a rip off to me to ask someone to pay an extra £4 for a potato based side when you are already charging above average for the main course. The waiter didn't make it clear it didn't come with a side so it looked like a starter on my plate and I was really hungry after it.

We were on a short break in the area, and chose The Pheasant for Sunday lunch on the strength of its Tripadvisor reviews. We had a super meal, accompanied by our dog, with great service and value for money. We would recommend unreservedly. Thank you to all staff concerned.
