Bidrage med feedbackVisited here as my mother in law said the food was very good. Well the food was acceptable but that’s as far as it goes. 1. The staff are all dressed in scruffy washed out black sweat shirts , jeans and shirts or blouses that hadn’t been ironed or just didn’t fit. 2. One waitress decided that her chin needed to be protected more than the customers as we constantly watched her tuck it under her chin when talking to customers. 3. We were placed in the corridor without any windows and directly opposite the kitchen and toilet doors where the staff congregated and talked so loudly we couldn’t hear our own conversation. 4. The wine was served in cheap crappy pub glasses which you find at a boot fair. 5. There is attentive and **** annoying. We were asked 9 times by different staff if our meal was ok ??? They clearly don’t work as a team and it’s a free for all because 3 different members of staff tried to take our dessert order ️ 6. We ordered Auction House Chardonnay and were served something else . When I questioned it I was told they had rebranded it ???? This could be such a nice place if they decorated it properly and not like it had just had a 60 minute make over. Smarten the staff up and train them on the content of the menu. Give each waiter/waitress their own tables so that the customers feel like you care and not just passing by the table and casually ask if everything is ok on their way to the kitchen. The whole experience felt rushed , from the moment we arrived to when we left the total time spent was 1 hour 15 mins , it felt more like a conveyor belt meal than a Saturday night out. Would we go back , absolutely NOT !! And my mother in law was going to take her friend for lunch on Wednesday, not now !! Go to Tripadvisor Privacy Policy Contact Us
We went for Sunday lunch for our son's 18th birthday. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside on the patio area overlooking the lovely gardens. The service was excellent even though we were outside. There were a few of us and everyone had the 2 courses option. We all had a great meal and dessert it couldn't have been any better. Lovely afternoon.
A disappointing Sunday lunch and not for the first time recently. The establishment over the past few years has been living on a hard earned reputation. This is being spoilt by trying to host too many people, with seemingly less and inexperienced staff. Managerial presence and hospitality has long since declined. Booking requests for seating location has been ignored on our last two visits. Furthermore roast meats have, by the agreement of those at the table, become very poor. A great shame; if a few more patrons spoke out in these forums then perhaps the management might wake up. Serve a few less people but do it properly.
We sat in the bar, with a lovely view over the gardens decided to have the set lunch as it was such good value and we were thrilled with our starters hubby waxed lyrical over his seafood risotto and I really enjoyed my very tasty spiced cous cous arancini. However our main courses disappointed. Hubby's Slow Cooked Beef Featherblade was tough tasteless and my Pan Fried Red Snapper was overcooked and tasted poached not pan fried at all. Such a shame.
We visit this restaurant quite often as you can guarantee the food is always excellent. There is an early bird menu which is good value and there is a good choice of dishes. Excellent service and speciality Gins which are well worth sampling.
