We came here for our first meal on our first night in Tokyo. The “google” chat service to reserve a table is truly convenient, Yoshi was very quick to response and super friendly. Didn’t take us too long to find the place because we were greeted by 2 servers from the restaurant who waited for us in the junction (we could have gotten lost without them). It’s super cozy and small izakaya but service was really quick and friendly. We went as family of four (2 adults and 2 kids) for early dinner between 17:30-1800, everyone enjoyed the dishes and it was reasonably priced. Will def return when we go back to Tokyo.
Note: this restaurant has English menus and most of the staff with whom I interacted had fair to good English. Even if you don 't know any Japanese, you 'll be comfortable here. Love love love this place. Got stopped on the street first night in Tokyo looking for a place, saw the Google Maps review and thought why not? So glad we did. The atmosphere is amazing. In a basement, it 's all dark, seasoned wood. I always sat at a table with my wife or with colleagues, but if I were along, I 'd definitely sit at the counter. The idea is to get a bunch of dishes to share. For two of us, we got four or five dishes. The third time (yes, I went there three times) I brought six colleagues with me, and we had eleven dishes (hungry crew). It 's great because you can try everything you order, and you will want to, because I didn 't have a bad meal there. My favourite is the gyu tetsu--a kind of beef stirfry, maybe? Whatever it was, it was out of this world. So flavourful with a character different than anything I had before. I 'm a beef lover, so I 'm biased, but it really satisfied. My second favourite was the bacon-wrapped garlic. That 's just perfect to go with a beer. Every one of my colleagues adored the place as well. This is the perfect place for a tourist to get a taste of Japan in a great atmosphere comfortable even without Japanese.
This place has been an amazing surprise and the best dinner we had during our trip in Japan. Also the staff was very friendly and kind and we felt very welcomed. They had a menu in English. The vibe was cheerful and I would recommend this place 100% (the place is in a quiet alley, and you have to walk the stairs down 1 level)
Highly recommended. Casual, fun, loud an joyous. The food was sensational just work your way through the menu and the team were super welcoming. Really well priced.
