Viktor Benes Bakeries - Sherman Oaks

Thanks to the cake experience of this place, the new joke in our household is now: Do you want a cake with or without mold? Look at the pictures! A few months ago I bought pastries that were not fresh and I saved $45 worth of Eclairs, Tiramisu and chocolate cake. This time I called and asked if they had freshly baked German chocolate cakes; I was insured, we bake our cakes daily. Skeptical, I asked again: Is the German chocolate cake fresh? I got up. I cut the cake and served it first to my father, who is 87 years old. Then I took a bite and spit it out because everything I could taste was mold. The whole upper layer under frosting had mold. Not only the staff is trained to lie, but this place must be closed as it is a health risk. When I returned, they only said we were sorry. I complained by e-mail and gave them the opportunity to answer, and I did not hear from them.

Viktor Benes always comes through for us! I ordered a lot of cakes here over the years. You've always been beautiful. I'll order lemon cake for my grandmother when Susie Cakes is cured from lemon early in the season and chocolate cake for my dad. I also bought many holiday topics cakes and football themes cookies. Recently, I had the opportunity to try one of their fresh fruit cakes. I always find her so beautiful. It was given to my son and he shared it with me. Soooo yummy! Very recommended as elegant treats for someone. I also discovered the day old section to have the crazy applesitter Donuts two packs. These reheated in toaster oven are sensually delicious. Probably the best I ever had. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this bakery if you need something in the area. I have my favorite bakeries, but they always do a nice job here so they're always a cotender.

My son really wanted a black forest cake for his birthday, and we were randomly in the Sherman Oaks area. I love this gelson's bakery is in, but had never ordered a cake from this bakery. I called to see if they even had a black forest cake and only our luck. They were able to take my order over the phone, and they asked if we wanted to write on the cake. The order was finished in 10 minutes, so I was super impressed. My son loved the cake, and they definitely put a good amount of cherries in there. Writing could have been tidy, but in a time this place definitely tasted our cake needs.

We have used this bakery for years for all our custom baked goods. My guests always ask me where I ordered my desserts mainly from the custom designed cakes. The cakes are delicious, fresh and fluffy, but not too overwhelming and sweet. Cookies and cupcakes are always a hit with children. The head baker always designs my baked goods just like I ask. Staff are friendly and very helpful to help you plan and order what you need. You will help you clearly communicate your inquiries to the head Baker/Designer. My proposal to go during the weekday as weekends are crowded. Also avoid going right before any big holiday, but do I need to order a few weeks in advance.

Located inside Gelson's, these pastries taste like your typical grocery store bakery department items. I tried the coconut cake, carrot cake, fruit tart and a white decadent cake that tasted like your typical wedding cake. The fruit tart was the best part but nothing tasted spectacular, but everything looked amazing. If you're already in the area and looking for a pastry it's good for a quick fix.
