We hadn’t booked and never been before, but from start to finish the team and atmosphere were very welcoming! Large portions were excellent value for money though neither of us could finish our meals! Food was fresh and delicious. Thank you for making our late Valentine meal out, one that can be enjoyed as a regular treat

The “Top Red” is a great pub and our ‘go to’ when we are in Grenoside. It’s just on the edge of the woods so it’s location is great if you are walking, cycling or returning. There’s loads of space inside with cosy nooks which is ideal for a drink with friends or a meal. They cater for couples, groups and special occasions for big gatherings. The menu is varied and the food is great quality. Drinks are reasonably priced too. There’s always a great atmosphere and you’re always made welcome. Above all, the team are really skilled, efficient, attentive and go out of their way to give you great service. Definitely visit the Top Red if you’re going to be in the vicinity.

Great little pub with great service . My wife ordered lasagne and my father in law ordered fish and chips ! I myself was drawn to the bangers and mash served in a giant Yorkshire pudding with rich onion gravy . The food didn’t take long to come out and the portion sizes were good . It was very nice food , both my wife and father in law were very impressed . I unfortunately was left disappointed. Although the food was very tasty , there was no giant Yorkshire pudding just 4 pieces which would of made a small to medium pudding if put together. Also the gravy was just that ! No onions . I passed my comments onto a member of staff, he said he was sorry and they kitchen found making large puddings difficult to do . Not too good as they have 2 dishes on the menu . I will return but hopefully if something on the menu has been changed they will inform us before ordering.
