Bidrage med feedbackLate afternoon evening visit, steady stream of customers, friendly service at the bar. The quality of the Real ale served here is excellent and the lady manager is very enthusiastic about it as well, I queried why she and her pub were not in the CAMRA* Good Beer Guide? She explained that CAMRA are not very interested in this particular Wetherspoons pub!! She explained that as a pub they really try to engage CAMRA, they have done meet the brewer, tap take over plus the ale quality is excellent and also excellent value so what is there not to like? Anyway, we enjoyed our visit, beer and evening. Keep up the good work *CAMRA (Campaign For Real Ale)
Great later afternoon evening drinking session, love the comings and goings on in this pub, people watching is better than TV any day lol… Real Ale served here is always excellent, the usual ales on and two guests. Great visit
I ordered the American pancake breakfast with crispy bacon. It arrived with two limp, horrible looking end bits of bacon. I said it was completely unacceptable and the waiter took it back to kitchen. By the time my family had eaten their unsatisfactory breakfasts, my pancakes returned with the horrible bits of bacon still hidden under a pancake. Additionally I was given a small side plate with COLD remnants of bacon. At that stage I decided I had had enough and was offered money back for my breakfast. Very gracious for what had been put in front of me. I hop the chef was having a bad day, but I will not be going back for a while
Popped in after work on a warm May afternoon, nice and steady with groups of obviously regulars, good mixture of ages, few orange hi viz chaps and a few postal workers, makes one wonder where these folk would of once frequented when the town was thriving with pubs? But good to see people still like to pop out for a pint. The usual range of regular ales were on offer and two guest ales one was a coronation brew but didn’t like the description of it so opted for the other guest which was Oakham Citra, I’ve had this before and loved it so opted for it. The barmaid poured my pint and i have to say the pint looked stunning! Wonderful condition, crystal clear with a creamy head. The pint itself was first class, fresh, crisp, floral and zinging with citrus hops, the head retained its structure all throughout the pint with wonderful lacing clinging to the sides of the glass all the way down to the bottom of the glass. Without doubt a stunning example of a wonderful beer and at just £2.26 a pint an absolute bargain… Top marks
Louisa is a Super Star my sister and I came for lunch on Saturday. A family with children had been at our table before we arrived and naturally there was some food on the floor. Louisa immediately noticed and cleared everything away. Throughout our meal she was attentive, took empty plates and glasses away and was delightful. Louise works so hard and when she delivers food to tables, she never goes back empty handed but takes empties back. She is a real asset!!!!! Thank you for making our lunch so enjoyable and stress free. Promotion due for Louisa!
