Van's Pig Stands Harrison St. - Shawnee

Normally good barbeque sandwiches. $7.25 for brisket sandwich. About $4 more if you add fries and a drink. Today (May 22) the meat tasted like it had been in a cooler and then reheated. Very dry also, I assume from the cooler. I have been going to Van's for about 58 years and this is the first bad sandwich I have received. 50 cent charge for water, which is fair.

Will I have been coming back? yes. I was immediately greeted by all the ladies in the kitchen, not only the cash nice touch! that was my first visit. I had a few asking and my asking were answered to my satisfaction? I ordered the pig sandwich combo (pulled pork) with (homemade n' pleasant) greasy curly fries. my meal was promptly brought to the table. the sandwich was sufficient. the pig was nice and damp tender with good smokey hauch taste (a bit light, but for my personal preference can vary their milage the meat itself was luke warm best my reason to push one on the review. the fries were fantastic! they were pleasantly soft on the inside with a beautiful crab on the outside. the BBQ-Saucensorte was a nice restaurant option! the hotel was completely clean: etagen, tables, toilet.

I enjoyed this. Good BBQ pleasant people. Everyone in our large group enjoyed the food. I don't live here but if I was passing through I'd stop again!
