Chicago Street Deli - Shawnee

I have the special that includes a cookie salad and half a sandwich for under $10. All dishes tasted fresh. Restaurant with clean service was friendly.

That was a great place for lunch. The owner and the entire staff were very friendly and outgoing, the food was great and quickly prepared. I enjoy the self-service drink station and especially love the serving itself crouton container through the register, it adds to a large salad. You get very busy with their lunch break, so I would recommend getting there before 11:30 if you need to be somewhere else. Tip: If you get a side salad, it comes into a compact container and I put the dressing on before I realized that she gave me a plate so I could spread it first!

I recommend this delicacy based on food delicious, portions are not too big or too small, the red onion salad dressing is ingenious, beautiful little town atmosphere, and the cookies are dang good. The place is kept very clean even during the rush hours. The owner is a great person for and takes care of their staff who is very nice (you had family and friends working for them off/on for the last 25 years). I haven't experienced her catering, but if it's as good as the pictures look and the food tastes in the restaurant, it would be a treat.

It is a wonderful place for salads, soups, sandwiches and delicious cookies! All the foods I tried are fresh and taste great! The atmosphere is picturesque, cozy and very friendly. My Hubby and I love Chicago Street Deli in Shawnee! You will.

A bit pricey for a deli shop, but if you get the Happy Deal, it 's well worth the cost. The cookies are very good, especially the pecan sugar. The soup with homemade croutons is terrific. As for the house red onion dressing for your sandwich.
