Black Diamond Tavern - Shawnee

I had a blast on Saturday night at this restaurant. It was a lot of fun and I met some wonderful people. The staff was amazing.

Good eating, beautiful atmosphere, personal is always friendly, good place to take a ride, stop and get a bite, and a cold beer.

What a pleasant surprise! Black Diamond is the perfect name for this restaurant. It is housed in a magnificent building in a city that is recovering from the effects of coal mining. I have nothing but respect for the opportunity and investment made by the owners. We encountered a very friendly atmosphere from the manager and two other employees. The food was excellent. I could eat the pizza sauce by the spoonful! The fried mushrooms were fantastic and surprisingly generous in portion size. Come hungry! Bravo all around, including the option to sit on the curved terrace next to the gardens. A pure bonus! I hope Google allows me to post my pictures. Oh, and the lighted Black Diamond ale was perfect! We'll definitely be back on Saturdays for more of the goodness!

There was a live band playing tonight at the restaurant! Randy Gleason was fantastic!! I ordered the chili and a Corona, and both were delicious. I am quite particular about my chili, and this one did not disappoint. Rachel, our server, was charming, friendly, and provided excellent service. Overall, it was a great night with good food and good company.
