No longer called Dangerfield's Restaurant, now called Shakopee House. Disappointed by the menu, no steak option on Tuesday (just wondering why still called a steak house? . Fries burnt, soup and desert not good, burger ok.
I was a little disappointed in the size of their $50 porterhouse. The steak seems like it is just a thin cut, and to be fair, there was nothing on the menu stating the size. There were 2 of us in the group who ordered this, and they were both very similar in size. I would suggest ordering something else if you are planning on going in. I did ask to substitute the carrots for Brussel sprouts, and those were really good. The waitress I had was really good, and the atmosphere of the place was pleasant as well. It's a little darker, but it works great for dinners.Overall, I would be willing to eat there again, but It's not something I'm planning ahead for
Beautiful restaurant, but boy the food is not up to par. Loved the atmosphere and the vibe here. Wasn't too busy on a Thursday evening. Thought we would finally come check out this place since it opened. Definitely didn't miss out on much. The hostesses were nice and so was our server. I ordered the walleye and my boyfriend ordered the steak. The food came out quickly. I would say at least 5-10 minutes tops. There's absolutely no way they could cook either of these dishes that quick. He ordered the steak medium rare, but it came out blue. Asked to cook it up to temp and when it came out it was well done. The steak was fairly thin. It shouldn't have taken long to come back out, but it did. It took about a good ten minutes before the food came back out. The wallet was kinda mushy. It literally was just a floppy fish on top of risotto. At least the risotto had some taste and cooked ok, but the food was warm. Very disappointing and sad. I was actually a little nervous about the temperature of my food. The plate was hot though. For drinks we both ordered old fashioned drinks from the menu. And wow, also very disappointing. I've never had an old fashioned that was so sweet. Luckily the large cubed ice helps lessen the taste of the drink. Unfortunately we won't be coming back. The tiki bar downstairs is neat though.
Incredible rum bar downstairs with an amazing screened-in outdoor seating area. The cocktails are excellent and well balanced. Definitely worth a visit. I know we'll be back.
I came here when it was Dangerfield and now came back to a new name restaurant (felt the same). The atmosphere was welcoming and the server was really nice. Had the parmesan shrimp appetizer and fish and chips. It was good food not amazing.
