Loch Ness - Sellano

Very good service, pity there was no written menu available. Awkward if you don't speek Italian. Some of the dishes served were not generous.

After searching for a place to stay in Sellano, we were told by the locals that Sellano does not offer that kind of hospitality any more. Instead, a nice gentleman drove us to this hidden jewel, about 1,5km further down the road. The building and lake together with the stunning mountainious surrounding, pictures an amazing scenery of quiet peacefulness. We got to stay in a full apartment, which was lovely and contained everything we needed and more. The hosts are very friendly, unfortunately only one of them could speak english, but everybody was really helpful. The restaurant was beautifully build on top of the old tunnels where water is running, which you were able to see through glass in parts of the floor. Food and service was great. For breakfast we made our own, but it's possible to get an Italian breakfast there. The only thing that we would have liked different is the terrace outside the restaurant. It's not very well maintained and the chairs are not that comfortable, it would be a perfect place to enjoy your evening. We would definitely recommend if you're looking for a peacefull stay!

Place that one has to go on a crazy road way out of a small village should be really good. And as the pizzas go, this place has great choice and great pizzas. However when we got there we asked if we could sit at table outside still two big tables left) and were asked how many of us there were 4) and then told no which we found strange as just after us couple came and they were seated at the big table outside. The owner seemed really unfriendly not a single smile. To the locals he seemed fine but it felt he didnt like foreigners coming to his restaurant. I am fluent in Italian so language wasn't a problem) Another downer was the fact that even though it seems to be beer oriented place which offers various beers when we tried to order it turned out they didn't have them bottled and tap beers) All in all great food, disappointment in beer section and the service would be only described as unfriendly. On the positive side we did see a porcupine on the way back to the village.

The restaurant has a little plyaground for children and a nice trampoline. My 2 year-old toddler enjoyed her time playing there. We rather ate outside to monitor our toddler which the restaurant was not able to accomodate to us. We ordered some Brabant beer, but it was not as nice as we expected for a Dutch beer. We rather go back to Holland to drink beer there. We ordered pizza, the truffle pasta and trout. The pizza was nice. The portion of the truffle pasta was a bit disappointing since in Sellano, usually we get quite good generous portion. The trout was also very disappointing since it was such a small little one. You can better have pizza in this restaurant than ordering the other dishes. Somewhere around 9pm, they closed the door that linked the restaurant to the playground. Apparently the door was supposed to be an emergency door. This is such a pity since kids can easily play outisde while parents have their dinner. Overall, we find that the restaurant has a nice concept with friendly waitresses, especially the blond girl.

Posto bellissimo. cibo non molto abbondante ma fatto in casa e buono. servizio non perfetto. Tuttavia, se siete alla ricerca di un posto per fermarsi per un pasto nella zona forse con una sosta rilassante non credo ci sia meglio.
