Bidrage med feedbackAfter 2 days of eating almost exclusively convenience store food, I was craving something fresh and healthy on my multi day bike ride. No.5 Bistro Bar did not disappoint. I wasn't setting my expectations high, but my meal was absolutely top notch. Iordered the salmon bowl with a side of french fries, and honestly, it was some of the best salmon I've had at a restaurant. Verytender with a slight crust; and the lemon added a very nice zing. Contrasting grilled salmon and lemon with cool pepper, couscous, cucumber and tomato complemented each other perfectly. And the fries punched far above their weight crispy yettender on the inside. Additionally, the staff was warm and attentive. If I'm back in Sedalia, I'll definitely hit them upagain!
Impressive ambiance with a bar, book/record store, patio area and intimate dining room. We arrived just to see the venue as it was near closing time. The staff was welcoming and offered us a seat and menus all the while reassuring us that they were ready to serve. The salmon was very moist and the bed of vegetables including artichoke hearts, mushrooms, chimmichurri and cherry tomatoes was delicious. My nephew ordered the Snapper which was thick, meaty, good portion size and tasty! We toasted with a special pineapple cocktail recommended by the staff for his birthday and enjoyed the cheesecake. They never once made us feel rushed. Good adventure for the taste buds!
Good food, clean place. Our waitress was new but did a great job. She was kind and professional.
Had lunch today with family. The ambiance was great, service was a little slow but friendly. My wife and I are vegan, and the bistro’s menu says “ask us about our vegan options.” We thought that meant they could accommodate vegans. They really can’t. There was one option on the menu we could order- a chicken spring salad, but without the chicken and the creamy peppercorn. The salad was small, but at least the lemon dressing was good. We were both still hungry when we finished, and they charged us full price $18) for a little bit of lettuce and lemon dressing. So we spent almost $40 for two salads to leave hungry. They should remove the statement about “vegan options” from the menu or add an actual option. We’re vegans, not rabbits. Our Sedalia born and raised grandfather also said the biscuits and gravy aren’t nearly as good as Hardee’s. The other half of the table did like their food.
Awesome service. Delicious food.I had the pork, it was fantastic.A very unique building and the history of the place is pretty neat.
