Bidrage med feedbackThe coffee is really good but I had a really unfortunate customer service experience. First of all, when the people in front of us were getting out their proof vaccination to dine in, the barista passive aggressively called out to the rest of us in line to Have your proof of vax ready before you come up and the people at the counter embarrassedly apologized, which was just unnecessary. After seeing online that this coffee shop was pet friendly, I was excited to visit because I just started fostering a weimeraner/pitbull mix who is extremely calm, quiet, and friendly. I called ahead and asked if I could dine in with my pet to confirm, because the internet can be wrong. The person on the phone told me that I could, but if anything happened that became disturbing or an issue for the experience of others, I would have to leave, which I said was perfectly fine. When I get to the counter to order and ask for oat milk, I say, do you have oat milk? because sometimes coffee shops run out of certain ingredients and it just felt like a polite way to ask for an alternative milk preference. The barista condescendingly replied all of our available milks are available on the menu board behind me . Oat milk was on the list. She could have just said yes? Then, she told me I couldn 't dine in with my dog unless it is a service animal. Which is completely understandable and very common but I told her I had called 20 minutes before and was told that I could, to which questioned who told me that, but of course the person who answered never told me their name. She was very rude and short with me and paid no attention to my dog. I understood my request may have been annoying and it could have been aggravating for a co worker to share misinformation. What was so disappointing about this treatment was that she didn 't hold the same behavior with two other guests who came in with dogs. A small breed came in, to which the barista complimented and talked all sweet to and asked the owner about. Then, a golden retriever came in. When this dog 's owner got to the counter, the golden retriever literally jumped up and put his two front paws on the counter. He was energetic and it was very obvious he was in the coffee shop. And this barista who had been so irritated with me and my dog was completely welcoming and affectionate to this dog. There was even a photographer for the coffee shop there, and she got a cup of whipped cream for the dog and had the photographer take photos of him eating it. I don 't know what I did to make this barista be so much ruder to me than other customers and other dog owners. It felt like it was about having a pitbull. I 'm not coming back because she was so uninviting and selective with which guests she was nice to.
This location is spacious and has great natural lighting. With COVID, they are asking for proof of vaccination or negative COVID testing (within last 72 hrs). They have spaced out and limited seating which gives ample space with obvious shared spaces for electrical plugs. The space is also dog friendly outdoors and indoors, which gives lots of pet therapy pending on dogs and owners. Overall a great experience.
I didn 't get a coffee here but that 's also why I wanted to come leave a review. I had a good experience at Zoka Kirkland and this Zoka location looks so cozy so one day I came over from Capitol Hill to check it out. The interior is indeed pretty cool, lots of people were chatting or working the vibe was convivial. As I waited in line to order, I first heard the barista (who was working alone) hurled a paper cup onto the floor somewhere, then he put a jug on the counter with such force that it made a loud Dang! sound. I told myself, No, I don 't come all the way here to get a coffee from this guy , and I left.
Great ambiance! I stopped in here with a friend and we sat on the patio after ordering. It was relaxing (you would never know you're sitting next to the street of western). Definitely a place I will bring my friends that enjoy unique drinks (aka the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie).
Came here with my father who is very picky with his coffee and wanted a flat white which they did not have. They tried to make him something similar which he enjoyed, but what was truly remarkable was the barista came out after my father finished his first coffee and gave him a latte in the classic way that they usually make it. It was so kind of her to go out of her way to make an extra coffee and ensure that my father was happy!! Both drinks were delicious and made by someone who loves what they do. Such a lovely experience.
