They decided to add habanero sauce to my nachos. It wasn't on the menu and when I went back to ask for nachos with no sauce, they argued with me that it was on the menu. I had to pull up their own menu and show it to them. Asked for a refund but never got one. Skip this place. There are way better Mexican restuarants on this street. The bar, which is separate, is good.
The slimy green stuff they call salsa is the worst excuse for salsa I've ever encountered. The $11 drinks are tiny and sugary, and the $3 tacos are 3 bites. I bicycled across Mexico 2 years ago, so I know what good Mexican food, and frankly I'd rather have taco bell than eat here again.
Went in for tacos a couple days ago and bit down on a piece of glass. Talked to the kitchen and they said they would refund my card, which never happened. Very uncool.
Neon Taco's replacement definitely brings back some similar flavors. My friends and I visited on a Sunday evening so the bar was fairly empty. The menu included chicken tinga, carnitas, and a vegetarian option. The fillings and sauces were delicious, and I have to give respect for maintaining the fresh tortillas. The only complaint about the food was that the tortillas crumbled very quickly making it difficult to eat. Our group also missed the option of the hot sauces that used to be served. Otherwise a solid replacement for Neon Taco.
