Bidrage med feedbackI had this @Humble Monk Brewery, since they were doing business through their food truck. I don't recall what I had, but it was delicious.
I had been eying this place for a while because I love BBQ but I hadn't found a place that offered the flavor profile that I was looking for. This brisket is my favorite in Cincinnati. The crunch of the crust, the tenderness of the meat. Perfectly seasoned and not salty, ugh I'm so happy. I enjoyed the street corn but I think it might be a little misplaced as a side. It definitely belongs with a taco? Maybe if the corn were smoked it would bring the two items together in my mind. Regardless, both the corn and the brisket were delicious and you better believe I will be back for more.
Mattson BBQ is good! They are up and coming and will for sure be a staple BBQ joint in Cincy! They currently offer their BBQ through pop-ups at different locations. Check out their website for upcoming pop-ups. I tried their BBQ at Humble Monk Brewing. It was a nice, bright, sunny day, perfect for BBQ. When I arrived to pick up my food, I was greeted by Chris and Katie, owners of Mattson BBQ. Both were really sweet and welcoming! I was able try their Brisket, Ribs, Housemade Sausage, Street Corn, Pickled Onions and Sweet Pickles, and Slaw. All three of the meats were tender and flavorful. The brisket had the perfect smoke ring. My husband and I devoured this food! It came with BBQ sauce on the side. We are sauce people so we always add sauce no matter whos BBQ it is. I know they say BBQ is amazing if you don't have to add sauce, but that's not true for me. It could be award winning and a president could have eaten it but I'm still adding sauce. *Sorry, not sorry* :p Their sides are all housemade and were tasty. The corn and slaw added the perfect crunch to the meal. They were bright and fresh. It lent that light, crisp, freshness to all that hearty meat. The meats and the sides all went well together and made up a great BBQ meal. My husband and I were truly pleased with their BBQ. Their sausage is also housemade and is delicious and full of flavor. Overall, catch Mattson at one of their pop-ups. You won't be disappointed!
I have two things in common with Meatson's Barbecue. Hale from The Land (Cleveland) We love some good brisket. Meatson's is not quite a food truck but a mobile grilling/catering business finding hungry crowds seeks good bbq around Cincinnati. I was able to enjoy a brisket plate while they were stationed at Fibonacci brewing. I knew they were going to be there, but didn't know if I would be ordering. Well, until I walked by the carving station and saw that hot, moist, smoked brisket. I had to go for it and what a great choice. THAT BRISKET WAS BETTER THAN BBQ JOINTS WITH A BRICK AND MORTAR! They left some fat on for flavor, but just enough that was edible along side the meat. Nice seasoning, smoke flavor and pairs great with a beer. The last place I recommended for bbq, we left completely underwhelmed with some dry brisket that needed to be soaked in sauce. (Somewhere in Walnut Hills) I will gladly redeem my recommendations Cree with this place. Maybe at another brewery. The brisket can stand on its own; sauce optional.
