Bidrage med feedbackStayed here in a single room and although there were other people next door, I slept silently. The barley soup in the restaurant and the breakfast buffet, which included wonderful Swiss brown bread, cereals, yogurts, cheese, ham and juice, as well as the usual coffee and an excellent selection of teas including green tea, were very enjoyed. I wanted to stay for another night, but they had not booked any other guests so they had a deserved rest. The staff is very helpful and the guest house has been in the same family for several generations. Will return...
We chose a three-day hike in Alpstein. We then booked two mountain guesthouses and the second was Ebenalp. I know there's a difference between the mountain guesthouse and the hut, but as we had our little dog with us, we had to stay in a mountain guesthouse, as in the hut it's difficult to have the opportunity to keep the dog while sleeping with you. We were so tired throughout the day, with walk 800 m high and 1 '600 m down i total.. and we just want to relax in a warm place. But unfortunately, Berggasthaus Ebenalp seems to be a kindergarten rather than a place to rest, eat and relax. There were many children screaming loud all the time. And at night, a group of people sings loud until 3:00. And when I said this to the young woman at the desk in the morning, she only said sadly, but she made me the full price. I was very upset! We couldn't sleep from 2 am to 5 pm and we had a lot to hike back 3 hours drive. This is the first and last time we stay there!! I left the door I really said. Location is perfect, but rudeness of people is amazing!!
We had no breakfast on arrival in this mountain guest house. We're hungry. We were greeted with our doggie. I recommend the “most soup” it is a winter soup typical of the area I was told. It was a soup with bread. French Fries and Antipasto along with the Cordon-Bleu were also good. We do not expect a Michelin restaurant at the top of the mountain, but it cannot be said that it is bad or average. It is very good and certainly the staff and the view is more than worth.
I have been many times during hiking to ebenalp and seealpsse. The location is magical, in the middle of the mountains. The food is good, mainly swiss cuisine based on pork meat, rosti, sausages and cheese. Service is good. This restaurant is on National Geographic list of restaurants to visit. I recommend. P.S: They have good beer. Ask for the dunkel Weissen.
My friend and I were very excited about this long weekend in the mountains with high expectations for fantastic landscape and delicious local mountain delicacies. We chose Ebenalp because of its excellent proximity to the cable car. One of us was slightly affected by mobility, so this was an excellent choice. So we thought... Unfortunately we chose the wrong place. The staff was incredibly rude and unfriendly. Just asking for some water seemed to be annoying. It seemed like we were a constant burden on the staff. I thought the staff was racist, but my friend pointed out that they were acting towards the other guests. The food was just as poor. Breakfast was unspectacular and no proper mountain food was to be found like local mountain cheese and ham. After the food went out on a buffet breakfast, the staff seemed hesitant to bring things up even though there was an hour before closing. Orange juice, milk and water were all warm. The cheese was a factory of cheese from the supermarket and so was the salami and the spam. Dinner was the same affair. Nothing seemed cooked at home, fresh or local. The vegetarian option sent us back directly to the 80s with frozen veg and a pile of fries. They were able to hear the other guests through the thin walls, seemingly run and hit around until good after midnight. The sounds reminded me of the youth hostels where I stayed as a little schoolgirl. All this came to a high price of 140 chf per night for a double room without warm water. The Ibis at the airport would be cheaper, quieter and with better food from the sales machine. It's enough to say that we never stay there again. The mountains are beautiful, so if you can go one hour or so to another inn, I would recommend you to do this and this one great miss.
