Directly on the main road – it is worth finding. Delicious food and soap products from the farm: cut meat and cheese, fresh milk, bread, culinary supplies.
Very nice cheese shop with possibility to eat inside. We had some Bavarian snacks including cheeses, salami, butter, cheese spreads etc. with bread and everything was very tasty. We would love to try some of their cakes, which looked delicious, but we were unfortunately completely...full. Maybe next time. Recommended!
On our way back to Fussen from visiting Neuschwanstein castle, My husband and I and traveling companions happened upon good fortune when we had lunch and dessert in this local cheese shop. We had sliced cheese and fresh homemade bread sandwiches with pie and cake....The best Landjager ever! The ladies behind the counter were cheerful and friendly and enjoyed having us foreigners in their shop.
The Schönegger-Käsealm is not a mountain meadow on which the cows graze, but one of many points of sale for the products of Schönegger-Käse alm GmbH based in Prem im Allgäu. The company mainly produces and sells cheese from cow's milk, but also sheep and goat cheese. It is advertised that only fresh hay milk is processed. This means that the milk comes from the approximately 500 farms of the Allgäu, Upper Bavaria, the Bregenzer Forest, the Great Walsertal and Tyrol of cows, which eat fresh grass on pasture in summer and harvested the hay harvested in summer. Our enthusiasm was great when my wife and I saw that not a few customers sat in front of beautiful large cheese plates and tasted the individual cheeses with visible pleasure. We immediately chose two probators. Unfortunately, I no longer know what price was necessary. We found, however, that the price was very fair in view of the quantities of cheese that the charming ladies on the sales table of the laibs cut us. My favourite was and is on the hard cheese of miners, a spicy and powerful mountain cheese, available for 5 or 12 months for about 16 or 20 euros per kilo. My wife, who has a weakness for creamy cheese, tasted the Alprahmkäse particularly well at a kilo price of about 18 euros. Conclusion: a visit to cheese tasting and if necessary - shopping is worthwhile for all cheese fans. Parking is right in front of the store. Clean toilets are also available.
