Bidrage med feedbackMy friend wanted to go to Giechburg for a long time when she likes it. I've never been to Giechburg and so the sunny warm spring weather that prevailed this Friday afternoon was perfect for the change. The Giechburg is located south of Scheßlitz and northeast of Bamberg and is a medieval castle. Nowadays, on the one hand, the building was preserved or restored, on the other hand it has also become a ruin. On and for itself, Giech Castle is a very beautiful castle where it can be held very well. There are various parking spaces on the way to Giechburg. This allows you to determine the length of the path itself. You can also drive directly in front of the castle and park in front of the front door. I would like to mention that the opening hours of the restaurant on the homepage can be significantly longer in good weather. During our visit in April, the Burggasthof had only officially opened until 5 pm, but there were also new guests at 6 pm. Location/Ambience and Cleanliness The Burggasthof is located in the middle of the castle walls. The beer garden, from which you have a beautiful view of the entire complex, has space for about 250 guests. We did not enter the interiors, according to my friend, there are also two guest rooms with medium size. In the beer garden there are mainly beer tents, but of stable quality. And the benches are equipped with backrests so that we sat comfortably even after an hour. On the tables there were no decorations or other items like salt pepper, only ashtrays stood around in a separate way. During our visit about 40 guests were present, especially parents with their children and tourists who enjoyed sunshine under light blue sky and drank coffee. There are also areas lying in the shadow of the buildings. It is certainly more pleasant to sit in summer. Cleanliness was fine for a beer garden, but our table was a bit dirty and on a beer felt a comminuted fly. In the toilets it smells very, very strict. They could be restored. Full number of stars for location and ambience and three stars for cleanliness. Service When we entered the beer garden, we asked the service that was currently busy to clean a table, whether we could get some food as it was just before 5:00 and closes the restaurant, as mentioned above on the homepage at 5:00. The service confirmed our question, and so we set ourselves. The menu was enough for us immediately, but it took some time to order our drinks and foods. The drinks were then brought quickly. I drank a 0.5l cellar beer from St.Georgen Bräu from Buttenheim at the price of 2.20 euros, my friend a grape juice choir (0.5l for 2.80 euros). I didn't want the drink to taste right. St.Georgen Bräu will definitely not be my favorite brides for me. That we want to pay, we had to tell the service twice because it was for the first time forgotten and after ten minutes waiting time did not appear on our table. There was no evidence. Overall, the service was more literally and somewhat warm, but I was almost a little sorry, because it was only responsible for the entire beer garden and had to run unreliably between the kitchen and the guests. She really had no quiet minute, even due to the fact that all guests sat in the sunny part and the way between the front door and the guests was on average good 40 meters. That's why I give the service three stars. The map included salads, bread times, dishes for small hunger, desserts and homemade cakes and cakes. On the map there was also a white sheet of paper, on which there were two soups and main dishes (brazen and schnitzel). The menu is not available on the homepage. The food that I chose from the insert sheet the carving with pommes and additional salad for 7,60 euros, my friend ordered from the card with leather cover the champignontoast for 5,50 euros. The food came very fast. It was brought to the table about ten minutes after the order. Both dishes were nicely hot and especially the large, flat carving with Pommes visually made a good impression (see photo). Unfortunately, the carving looked better than it tasted. Unfortunately, I had to find that the carving came from the frit and was quite fat. It also tasted slightly after old fat. Everything except joy. The Pommes would like to stay in the frit for a minute longer and have a little more salt. Even the ketchup from the small bag (usually not worth mentioning at all, did not taste because it was too sweet. I eat in restaurants very often Schnitzel with Pommes because it is my favorite dish, and I haven't eaten so badly SchniPo for a long time as in Giechburg. My friend wasn't happy with her champignontoast either. The dish consisted of two uncut slices of Convenience Toastbrot, which lie side by side and were covered with a large slice of ham and mushrooms of glass and cheese. There was also a small salad on the plate. The toasts were fluffy and the mushrooms were hard. The ham and the cheese were delicious. I handed over my friend's side salad. That was too lazy for her and the dressing to edgy. The part of carving with pommes was sufficiently large. My friend wouldn't have been fed without my salad. But the toast is actually a small dish. Two stars for dinner. Price/performance ratio and conclusion The price level is very low even in Franconian conditions. Especially considering that Giechburg is a small tourist attraction. The quality of the food was also quite bad, but the ambience here makes a lot and clearly evaluates the overall impression. We had a nice time in the beer garden and were still happy. That's why 4 likes again. If I'm back in Giechburg, I'm sure I'll come back and try my luck in another court. The pork roast with lumps and hosting had smiling me out of the map. (1 – certainly not again, 2 – hardly again, 3 – when it returns, 4 – again happy, 5 – definitely back into the kitchen
Tasty, typical Franconian food in historical walls! in every view a joy!
After the short ascent to the giechburg, visible from the hiking park square zeckendorf, a grid is available in the restaurant's beer garden under the corresponding weather conditions. beside various types of beer (recommended: cellar beer) there are naturally also soft drinks. as it was from time to time, we also have good and cost-effective lunch. although the beer garden was well occupied, the service was friendly and attentive. there is therefore no reason not to give all stars.
On the afternoon at 15 o'clock my pork was as fresh as at 12 o'clock. the crust so crispy that wesing so delicious. pure and not too expensive, in the middle of the castle to eat is a dream. very child-friendly! I love eating with my two grandchildren.
