Bidrage med feedbackOur first time here was yesterday to celebrate the Father's Day and we would definitely go back. I had the nashville hot chicken sandwich- didn't disappoint me at all, tasty and spicy and my father had the pulled booze with kansas style sauce. both dishes were delicious. we went to lunch, so it wasn't very busy. cool vibes inside with benches, bar- give them very rustic feeling, and you have to try bourbon there, paired with eating really good.
This is a great place to come with a date, family or group. Blackwood brought Texas bbq to Schaumburg! They have a variety of meats to choose from pork, beef and chicken. Including 6 homemade bbq sauces that are on the tables for you to generously try out. The Pitmaster as they call them in Texas, slices the meats to order so you never get any meat that’s just been sitting in a warmer. We tried the beef brisket platter and it didn’t disappoint. They ask you if you want lean, a little fat or in between. We both ordered in between. The meat was tender, flavorful and generously portioned. You get your choice of a various side with it and we picked coleslaw. They also had onions and pickles on the plate with a piece of Texas toast as to make a sandwich from the meat. The desert pies looked really good but we were full. Places to sit were spacious, clean and they did provide outdoor seating as well. It’s a unique taste of traditional Texas bbq to try out for fun.
This is my office's favorite place to order food from! We all usually get the spicy chicken sandwiches I have gotten the spiciest one before and it is not a force to be reckoned with. The flavor is amazing and the portion is pretty big. The sides are great too. My favorite dish is the macaroni and cheese. I can't speak on the BBQ itself, I haven't had it before.
The brisket was just ok and since none of the platters come with actual sides (except for a small scoop of coleslaw) the prices were pretty ridiculous. My meal cost $30 for about 6 slices of brisket, side of mac and cheese, side of baked beans and a medium fountain drink. The sauces almost tasted like they were just ketchup with some spices or something, and the beans had almost no sauce so they were kind of plain. As a comparison, Mission BBQ has a brisket meal that comes with 2 sides, a drink and a piece of cornbread for under $20 out the door. The quality of meat and all sides is also drastically better than Blackwood.Another much better BBQ place is Real Urban BBQ which has very similar menu offerings and prices as compared to Mission BBQ. The sweet and spicy sauce at RUB is the best tasting one from all 3 of these places combined.Overall, the food at Blackwood wasn't terrible, but it's really just way too expensive for how mediocre everything tastes compared to competitors.
Food portions were pathetic. Took my out of town guests here before going to the airport. The sauces were watery and vinegary. No sauce was usable on our food. The only thing I liked was the Blackwood ? beer! Ioh well my grandson did like the ice cream bar, ??but I’m sorry that I won’t be going back!! Only for the ?
