Yas Persian Restaurant - Scarborough

Dhaba is located in a strip of restaurants and fast food outlets. Our experience was:The seating was comfortable, The spacing between tables was appropriate. The noise level was low even with some large family tables nearby. We could converse easily.The waiter was attentive and helpful.We ordered an entree of Tandoori chicken to share, Nan bread and mains Buttered Chicken, Lamb Palak with Basmati rice. The plentiful servings of food arrived in good time. The Nan was hot out of the oven and very good. All dishes were tasty, appropriately spiced to my liking (not very), hot in temperature and freshly prepared. The Lamb Palak was very good. I am fussy about my dinner plate being hot. The service at DhaBa provided a very hot, dry plate to eat my meal from. Top marks for that part of the service.The wine list was not extensive. We ordered a bottle of Madfish Cabernet Merlow (2010) that had good depth and taste and complimented the food nicely. Compared to most licence restaurants the wine price was very reasonable ($28).All up our bill was $99. Overall a pleasant dining experience and I felt we had good value for out money.

Unproffesional service, dried burned and salty kebabs and high prices are all shocking for a newly stablished restaurant which should be looking to attract customers!

This places oozes old school restaurant culture from the region. Having been to Iran I swear this is very similar to places I ate at when traveling through Iran on a motorcycle. They deserve to be tried. The foods pretty good, with extreme attention to detail. You can sit looking over the pool. The prices are so good we should be paying more.

Had dinner there last night (as a couple). Very pleased, especially coming off an unsatisfactory meal at The Prophet last weekend. Excellent service from the two lovely ladies there, and the food abundant and tasty. Our first time for Persian food, so we have no real measure, but we were both delighted. The "Deep Olives" were an entirely new taste surprise. The tomato dip with Persian bread was also good, though we're not such big fans of the thin bread style (prefer Turkish !). We tried a chicken and a lamb dish, both excellent and beautifully cooked, and served with rice. The lamb not overcooked, but just a little charred at the edge for great colour and flavour. The chicken moist, succulent and flavoursome. Very nice decor and furnishings inside, even if the building is a little aged, but looking out to the pool was pleasant. Were a little concerned at first as we were the only ones there, but we were early and there were soon about a half dozen tables occupied. We probably ordered too much....well, we did order too much, but at $70 total, it seemed quite reasonable. Restaurant is BYO too, which makes it more appealing.
