Bidrage med feedbackWe had this place booked for 22nd July. We received a message from Hotels.com telling us that our booking had been cancelled without any reason given. The Plough have not been in touch to offer an explanation.
Booked to stay overnight with breakfast in the morning by however when we arrived the places was closed completely, we called and emailed and have had no response and no refund either. Had to raid the issue with our bank and hope we get our money back that way. Wouldn’t recommend !!!!
Ruth our waitress was amazing, worked really hard with a busy pub and restaurant. Looked to be the only person working! But she was amazing
We were on a family holiday in Whitby and decided to book a pub meal. We researched many places and chose this one as the menu online seemed to accommodate vegetarians and children. Unfortunately, when we got there, their menu had changed and some of the options we were excited to order were no longer available. Added to this, several of the items on the menu had run out. 80% of us weren't able to order what we wanted. Although there was a sign asking us to not order at the bar and wait for table service, we had to go to the bar of we wanted a drink as no one came to ask us if we wanted one when our glasses were empty. When the food arrived, one of the meals was wrong. A sweet potato and spinach pie had been ordered but it had been knowingly replaced with a quorn mince and onion pie. They seemed to think it was OK to replace a vegan pie with any other vegan pie without letting us know. We refused the meal and did not pay for it. The rest of the food was distinctly average although my little boy did enjoy his meal. I would advise people to look elsewhere if looking for a nice meal in and around Whitby.
Beautiful pub with great location and very friendly staff we’ve had some nice food in there but a Rude landlady on 2 occasions, she has cone across rude occasion one me and my partner (who is born and bread Whitby) was spoken rudely after popping for one drink told that they have a big party coming and we must find seats, i get that but they we was spoken to was very disrespectful, said we wouldn’t return , but did a couple of months later, we ordered a drink at the bar and was about to order another for the same lady to be standing there with the key for the pub she wanted to close at 20:30 because there was only 3 people in there, the pub is advertised to close at 22:00, I honestly wouldn’t have minded but felt uncomfortable in a nice local pub, such a shame, will have to stick to the Elsinore in whitby
