Crown Tavern - Scarborough

Such a pleasure to visit, Food was amazing, cooked to perfection, nothing too much for the staff, good facilities, great location, good prices, what more can I say.......Will certainly be back. Take no notice of previous reviews, they cusnt be further from the truth.

Omg party of 7 of us was late on and decided to call at the crown tavern as people saying how good there food ids is since end of Jan 23 so we decided to give it a go 2 bad review lately but nope do not believe what you read.. Call in Thursday night 3 gammons 3 steaks and cod and chips. Service was good and food came out pipping hot. Presentation excellent. All steaks were ask to be all cooked different rare medium rare medium all 3 came out spot on melted in your mouth trimming onion rings mushrooms grilled tomato chips and peas can't go wrong cod was massive tasted so fresh batter was to die for. Excellent job plus the lady chef actual came to ask us if everything was okay what a star very polite and enthusiastic obviously takes pride in what she does. Will be returning excited to do so.

If I could give a zero rating f I would. Took my daughter to lunch noone in the bar all the staff say at a table talking I stood at the bar waiting, when noone came I asked if they were open which they replied yeah, once they served me I stood waiting a while for the to open the till and do the things that should been done on opening. Food arrived and my daughter said it tasted funny and I have to admit it tasted off! What looked to be the cook came out from the kitchen looking like her cloths and self needed washin not a good look! We won't be back what's happned used to be a lovely pub now staff seem to not care one jot about what they're doing.

My husband and I visited here for the first time Thursday evening. I asked the young blonde barmaid if I should choose a table then return to the bar to order. She was talking to a dodgy looking character at the bar. She tutted at me and said YES. It took a while to find a clean table. I then ordered the food which appeared to put the barmaids back up. Very rude and snappy, when the food came I asked please could we have salt and pepper and the male waiter grunted something under his breath. He slammed down the cutlery and flounced off. I then realised he had only given me knife. So I went up to the bar and asked please can I have a fork the rude blonde totally ignored me even though she was stood directly in front of me. So I asked another lady that appeared behind the bar which I think she was her boss. The blonde then got me a fork and slammed it on the filthy bar. The food was rubbish white chips and a steak that was rock hard and dry as a bone. Don’t waste your money it may appear cheap but £30 for a meal for 2 that was inedible is not cheap. You get what you pay for and that includes the staff!!!

We are a family Group of 13. A tall order for any restaurant to cater for and the Crown Tavern delivered. A number of us selected the Wednesday night drink curry deal but those that picked fish chips, lasagne burgers were equally as delighted. Great value for money, quick service and a big thumbs up from all the family. Well done the Crown Tavern Team
