Chef Express - Saskatoon

The Chinese food at this restaurant is incredible! The spring rolls are exceptionally delicious.

We have ordered from this restaurant numerous times. We have sampled appetizers, pizza, and Chinese dishes. We have enjoyed everything we have tried. The fact that they are open late every day of the week is also fantastic!

I ordered Vietnamese Spring Rolls, Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls, Deep Fried Shrimp, Special Shanghai Noodles, and my favorite dish, Spicy Ginger Beef. I was aware that there were minimal vegetables in the dishes, but I was craving a satisfying meal after a tough week. To my surprise, everything was fresh, hot, and delicious. The Special Shanghai Noodles had the perfect amount of cooking and a delicious black bean sauce. The shrimp were light and had a nice snap to them. The Ginger Beef was exceptional, with plenty of beef and ginger flavor, and just the right amount of heat. The crispy texture of the beef and the hint of sweetness made it perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The chicken balls were average, and I suspect I only ordered them for the extra sauce. The Spring Rolls were hot, crispy, and flavorful, with a balanced amount of Chinese 5 spice powder. Overall, it was a great experience, and I will definitely return to see if it was just beginner's luck. Keep up the good work, Chef Express! Two months later, I decided to try their pizza. Unfortunately, I would describe it as "okay" at best. The crust was a letdown, tasting like a pre-cooked crust from a supermarket. The toppings were decent, although I ordered one with extra cheese and believe both pizzas were prepared the same way. I will stick to ordering Chinese food from Chef Express in the future, as that appears to be their specialty.

My roommate and I were looking for somewhere to sit down and eat a little later in the evening. We were craving an Asian dish and we just couldn't find anywhere that wasn't take out; we were very happy that Chef Express was open late. We went in and had a dinner for two; chicken fried rice, chow mein and sweet and sour pork, we also ordered delicious spring rolls, and a big bowl of deluxe won ton soup. The food was delicious and well presented, and the service was great! We are so full!!
