Bidrage med feedbackDifficult to find a way of reviewing the newish Amici restaurant separate from the Dante Club. The restaurant is located at the back of the Dante Club on the main floor. Have been there twice for their small lunch buffet. First time went with large group...and enjoyed the buffet for a discounted price, coffee drinks extra. Best part was the smoked salmon! Second visit was not so good. As I don't eat red meat found the choices more limited on the buffet. Went with a smaller group, one who is a member of the club. He thought food was cold and selection sort of limited. For almost fourteen dollars I have to agree that selection was limited. Also this restaurant is dark and lacks any kind of atmosphere. No celebration of Italian culture with decor, music etc. here! Was thinking of taking my husband but probably won't bother. My friend thought that getting there earlier might help with the food being hotter. Also don't really like that they don't label what the food is and that it is sort of a **** shoot as to what will be on the buffet.
I have visited this restaurant three times in the past two weeks because the food is excellent and the service is friendly and great. If you're looking for authentic Italian food, this is the place to go. They offer a variety of antipasti, pastas, meats, vegetables, and salads, all prepared with pride and love. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
This restaurant is on the west side toward the back of the building. Lots of free parking, handicapped parking at the door. The room is dark and lacks ambiance . . . a bit sterile. A couple of big TVs added some light and sound....The chairs border on flimsy, the table rocked until we adjusted the feet. Service was prompt with delicious bread and butter provided immediately. Stella beer was offered, but was out of stock. Antipasti orders were taken quickly and delivered in a reasonable time. Except . . . the $18 antipasto plate didn't surface until a few minutes before the meals arrived, long after the salads were consumed. Takeaway boxes are provided. Two servers were polite and accommodating, but not synchronized. If one took an order, the other delivered it without knowing who ordered what. Three meal choices were offered. One was not available. I think this was due to an equipment malfunction, not because of overwhelming attendance. The washroom is excellent for disabled, except for the placement of the TP dispenser in the men's washroom. It encroaches in the space required to use the toilet.
Food is always very good. Authentic Italian food.. Staff are very professional and very courteous.. Always a pleasure to be invited to an event at the Dante Club..
I ordered the cod dinner and it was cooked perfectly, even though I am picky. It was served with roasted eggplant, warm olives, and the creamiest polenta I have ever eaten.
