Bidrage med feedbackHorribly understaffed! Our waiter was probable a good one but we really didn’t get to find out. He had at least seven other tables , and 25 other diners he was waiting on. Our cocktails came about 10 minutes after we received our food. The ceviche was good. The pork was dry and about as tough as jerky. It took at least 25 minutes to get our check after our meal was done. We were about to get up and leave without paying. I’m not sure they would have noticed! Too many excellent restaurants in Mountain View to bother to try this one again.
I normally don’t leave reviews and I feel bad leaving this one but the food quality was just very subpar, especially for what they’re charging. The “papa rellena” was way too salty, the ceviche we asked for medium spicyness but we couldn’t finish it because it was too spicy. My husband ordered a chicken soup and it had no flavor to it at all. It was very bland like a soup you’d get at a hospital. Nothing close to an authentic “Sopa de Pollo” from Peru. (There are other Peruvian places in the Bay Area that do taste like this, so I don’t think I’m raising the bar too high) Finally, we ordered the “Jalea” and it was kind of a small portion and way too over fried. The Chicha Morada also tasted very watered down, other places we’ve visited at the same price point didn’t taste as diluted. Other than that though, the servers were nice and friendly and the restaurant is decorated nicely as well. The area looks very touristy too. It’s just that the food wasn’t very good at all. If they were to improve on this, I could definitely see it becoming more popular. We visited on Father’s and almost no one was there.
Our server was very attentive and friendly. The Pisco Classic was delicious. The food was good but my husbands braised ribs were over cooked. It’s a nice place to dine.
Mediocre food. Add to this slow service. Not recommended.
Beautiful space, but the service and cooking was a bit of a let down. We felt that our drinks to start were a little watery compared to how we would make at home. Didn 't originally get starters, but our first two plates took some time to arrive. Our salmon and chicken were not cooked completely and had to be re-made. When I was served the first plate, the runner spilled the sauce on me. I don 't believe they mentioned her error to the manager or our primary server since no comment was made at all. The runner didn 't react at all, until I had to ask for a towel a very odd reaction. Maybe some training is in order? We were given a small bowl of chips and did order some yucca fries to tide us over. The fries could have used some salt, but the green sauce was fantastic. When we received our meals, the salmon was well cooked and the quinoa pilaf was unique but under-seasoned. The chicken was well cooked but the skin was rubbery, and the side was a cold potato salad. It was tasty, but the menu writing could be improved. The thing that made both plates was ubiquitous yellow sauce , which was super yummy. We do want to thank the restaurant for stepping up and comping us dessert due to the under-cooked meals. We will give it another try to see if anything improves.
