Bidrage med feedbackOut of some food and some alcohol. Stupid Medieval show on TV. Pool table was old and slow.
The pub is located in a small strip center that is a bit rundown. You can't determine if they are open from the front windows. Try the door, they are probably open. My son-in-law and I visited them on Easter Sunday and they were open, Premier Football (soccer) matches draw patrons. There are an ample amount of tables but most of the crowd sits at the bar positioning themselves for proper screen viewing. We sat at a table with countertop chairs. You can smell that smoking has been allowed, although none of the customers were imbibing at the time. I also did not see ashtrays at the bar. Our goal was simple, order an authentic English Breakfast. Champions appear to be a basic mom-and-pop restaurant. Pop takes the orders and tends bar, mom is in the kitchen preparing orders. I ordered a small breakfast which I will share in an attached photo. The order was huge. The full breakfast has an additional egg and double meat. English breakfasts include eggs, fried bread or toast, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, bangers, and ham. I suggest ordering a small breakfast unless you are beyond hungry. I have been fortunate to enjoy a proper English Breakfast in the UK and what Champions prepares is the real deal. One of the others ordered curry chicken and I'm disappointed that I didn't try it, but it is on my list for the next time I visit. Bottom line, I highly recommend Champions Pub if you enjoy British food, or enjoy European Football. I will rate this a five-star meal, but overall I will give it a four only because of the smoking atmosphere.
Lovely quaint old English style pub with great staf and great food. Fune environment to watch futbol matches especial mornings on Saturdays.
Tried to get a drink from the parrot while waiting for my pizza from solorzanos to be done, only to be harassed by champions pub and told if I do my car will be towed. Extremely rude and unfriendly. Won't be going there to get a drink anytime soon.
We love champions pub. one of the only sarasota local pubs to premiere, league euros and world cup football (in America, that means soccer opens early for the first premiere league game of the day. there is always a traditional sort of English pub food such as sausage rolls, pasties, scotch eggs and full english brekky. always ask what is available because it changes. Sometimes they will have a curry or brain cake. always order the curry when it is available, it is delicious. it is not unusual and served without excitement, but always meets the point followed by a few pints. the newcastle Ex-Pat owners, tony and joy (m’am), are the sweetest they will ever meet. that is a smoking tavern, so remember before they visit. otherwise this is a fun neighborhood spot with exceptional camaraderie. prost.
