Jalao - Santo Domingo

I made a reservation through OpenTable while I was in Miami. The day of the reservation, someone contacted me through WhatsApp to confirm, which was fine. I informed them that I would be running late, so they helped me change my reservation to 9:00 PM. Everything was going well until two more of my guests arrived after 9:30, at 9:37 to be exact. The restaurant wanted to charge them 200 pesos per person to let them in. I had to explain to the girl at the door and the manager that I was never informed of this additional fee, and the person on WhatsApp had not mentioned it either. Although my guests were eventually allowed in without paying, I found the situation to be uncool. We enjoyed our meal, but we did not come for the music. The food was really good, the ambiance was amazing, but the service was not as good as everything else. Would I come back? Yes, but I would not be as forgiving if I felt they were trying to take advantage of me as a tourist.

I took my family, visiting from the USA, to this restaurant and they were delighted. The live music was excellent, the service was attentive, and the dishes were delicious. The restaurant's decor was also very visually pleasing. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I wish I can give it more s! Very nice and elegant restaurant, the best unique drinks and the food is delicious. The entertainment is fun and inviting, I have a good time every time I come here. Try the Mamajuana shots!

The food at this restaurant was incredible! We tried both the Mofongo and a chicken dish and couldn't decide which was better. The drinks were also delicious and had a nice kick to them. We enjoyed our experience so much that we're thinking of returning tomorrow!
