Bidrage med feedbackThis is a restaurant operated by a small Peruvian family that enters the local neighborhood. It is a look back at an old neighborhood restaurant that can be found in an Italian neighborhood of your local city, and the care that goes into the food shows it. The pastas are delicious from this world and the pizzas are handmade in wood-fired pizza oven in the corner of the restaurant. The menu is quite extensive (8 pages) and once ordered, your meal is made by scratches and comes in approx. 15 minutes, the pretty fast Peruvian standards. The manager is a kind of gentleman called Claudio who greets you at the door. In our first trip there were four of us. I gave Claudio two gluten-free crusts and asked if he could use them to make a pizza. He liked to make two fabulous pizzas on them without trouble. One of our party ordered pasta with meat sauce and it was fantastic; it was a red tomato sauce with very fine beef; many spices were in the sauce and it tasted fantastic. One of our parties ordered a “personal” pizza, which according to American standards would be a medium-sized pizza, which was clearly large enough to serve two people. The food and the staff were so wonderful that we had to return. On our return trip I gave Claudio a package of gluten Free Pasta and he liked to say he would incorporate it into our meal. I ordered the seafood sauce and it came with many large shrimps, mussels and a skalopp. The sauce was a delicate balance of garlic and Italian spices in olive oil. It was incredible. One of our parties ordered the Carbenara sauce with loop tie pasta and the taste was excellent. Each Entrée was about $12 and the portions were pretty big. We decided to order a 1⁄2 jar of house wine (which is a Malbec) for 39 soles (approximately $10), which gave 3 of us a glass of wine which was quite tasteful. They also offer a Sangria that was a fruit mix of red wine, fruit and chicha that was incredible; it costs only $6. In Lima you have a hundred pizza and Italian cuisine options, but if you want Authentic Italian cuisine that is incredibly cheap, prepared from scratch, this is your place. If you stay in Miraflores or San Isidro, the 10 minutes drive is worth it.
As soon as we arrive, the reception is very warm. We feel right at home and in Italy! The food is very good, good wines and very good desserts! It is a very accessible place with many public transport. The parking spaces are limited, but you need to be in the streets behind
Food is excellent every time we visit Peru we make a point to eat in this restaurant. But tonight there was a singer who was not very good, but extremely loud. We found out he was playing only on Thursday, so we could do a point to avoid Thursday.
Great Italian cuisine Try the mushrooms as an appetizer. Ravioli and Ossobuco. Bring your own wine. You will open it for you.
Real Italian dishes even our waiter was from Italy. Their sauces are great. Love their gnocchis with 4 cheeses and their pizzas. Nice people and a nice ambience!
