Lanea - Santa Monica

After watching the sunset from Venice beach, my friends and I were looking for a place that was open late for dinner. We randomly stumbled upon Lanea on our way to the third street promenade. Not only were the food and drinks delicious (I recommendthe picante coast highway margarita and the WATERMELON. SUGAR. HIGH. for drinks--the margarita flight was also very fun--andquesadilla for food), the bartenders were some of the nicest people I've met. The bar was packed and only two bartenders werethere to take orders and make drinks. Both Alie and Chad were amazing. They took my order and quickly made the drinks (whichwere delicious) and then brought our food to a table outside, even though the bar area was packed. They were quick to take ourorder, quick to serve us, and quick to smile during the whole process. The two handled the stress phenomenally, and I could goon for pages about how great they are. As I said, Alie and Chad are the best bartenders I've ever met; they're great at makingdrinks and even greater at making me want to come back. The flight of margaritas made it a fun night, but the bartenders madeit amazing!

I made a reservation at Lanea to celebrate my sister?s birthday and it was unfortunately a terrible experience. Upon arriving, the bartender, Ally, was busy taking shots with customers at the bar and ignored my party when we walked in. We made areservation over 2 weeks ago and were told that we had a lounge seat reserved, and she had no idea, even when I had the emailsto show her, which was fine. The issue is that she gave me and my party attitude that wasn?t warranted and not the level ofservice we expected. Last but not least, we were ignored at the bar for 30+ minutes when we tried to order food and drink whenwe tried to give the place a shot. Rude staff and not worth your wait. Go elsewhere!

Nice food and drinks! Good prices for Santa Monica and very good service from the ladies working in this place. However, and this is not against the staff in this place, the tipping culture in America? Even if your waiter/waitress is sh/#te you have totip them and in Santa Monica the ?lowest? option seems to be 18%! (No wonder why there are so many homeless here? They spent itall in tips? . This place also charges a surcharge of 3% for the kitchen staff. What?s next? Is the owner of the place going toask the customer to pay for the electricity bill as well? Get a grip.

One block from Santa Monica beer! We went Wednesday for their 3night special: all you can eat tacos $15! Would absolutely recommend! Nice staff, good vibe, gluten free and vegan options! Fresh food!

Ginger Margherita is The Jam. I love the candied ginger they top it with the music felt fun. The tacos were delicious. The lighting vibe was really spot on.
