Tom's Take Out - Santa Maria

Myself a friend stopped into this sweet little burger joint on our way to Santa Cruz from LA last week wow was I completely surprised. I ordered the fried chicken burger combo and an order of Diablo fries. What transpired next was utterly amazing. My chicken burger came out I took about 2 bites before the Diablo Fries came out after I saw those fries. I got a box for my chicken burger combo preceded to dive into the Diablo fries. Words cannot describe how incredible it was. I’ve eaten plenty of loaded fancy fries meals from alot of different places all over the country and these by far are my favorite. Keep in mind these fries are on the spicy side of things so if you can’t take the heat then try something else. These fries aren’t even on the menu, it’s on a piece of paper handwritten on the counter by the register.Whenever I find myself in California again I’m gonna try my best to stop in for another round. Tom’s has been there since 68 I see no reason for it going anywhere for many years to come.

We really liked the brioche buns on the burgers. I know it may sound weird but the buns really rocked. The burgers themselves were good and the topping were fresh. The crinkle fries were HOT and cooked golden brown on the outside while soft and fluffy on the inside.Service was good. The atmosphere was a nice car motif with a couple of tables inside and several outside tables.

I actually like this place a lot and come somewhat often, but I'm very disappointed with service tonight. I was charged for 3 extra ranch cups which I did not receive, I received the same amount of ranch cups which come with the foods I ordered (I know because I almost always order the same thing). One of the ranch cups was also spilled all over the bag inside. Normally this place is great so idk what happened tonight. I hope next time is better again.

Just amazing. Was stopping in just to grab something for a long trip and they nailed it. Great crew and speedy service!

Excellent grub! Authentic flavors unlike the chain establishments. Santa Maria is lucky to have this gem!
