Garden - Santa Cruz

Our favourite restaurant in Canico de Baixo. Nice and atmospheric restaurant, open fireplaces. Go for the grilled foods espetada, tuna steak and filet mignon were all excellent, cooked as we requested, and we ended up coming here on two consecutive evenings. Good wines, available also in half bottles much appreciated by the wine enthusiasts but very moderate drinkers in our group. Outdoor areas were quite full on both nights we visited, but service was friendly and we were able to get a table by just walking in.

We came here with our two year old daughter And it was obvious that children are not welcome. We were the first And the manager told us that the kitchen was not open yet, but there was a chef working in the open kitchen. He told us that it would take at least 1,5 hour before we could eat; strange thing when the restaurant is empty. We think that he mentioned; f*ck off we dont like children. Dont ever come back as a couple either. There is a Nice restaurant a bit farther in the street called snack bar mare. Cheap, friendly And very good

Good setting. Bland food. Won't go back again. The waiters even lacked enthusiasm. I was expecting a much better meal and service. On the plus side the wine was nice.

My wife and I ate here tonight and we both really enjoyed our meals. My steak was excellent good quality cut and perfectly cooked with as variety of vegetables. My wife,s risotto also was really good. I have posted some really harsh reviews of restaurants in various parts if the world , but this was great

First time to Canico and stumbled on this restaurant just round the corner from our hotel. We had steak skewers for two and WOW. 6 chunks of top quality fillet and not an ounce of fat in sight. Beautifully cooked, just enough sides to keep you occupied and in case you're wondering the little fried cubes are corn ; So good we went back again 2 nights later.
