Lucille's Smokehouse Bbq - Santa Ana

Coming here i was expecting an average steakhouse…like outback; not that outback sucks. but, the servings here were huge. my cousin wasn’t kidding when he said he has never made it to dessert. one thing i saw that i haven’t seen anywhere else was their onion rings; it’s not overly wrapped in flour, it’s just pure onion with light flour, so its nice and thin and really crisp. the bbq is amazing. i highly recommend any of the combo plates; you get your money’s worth. afterwards i felt disgustingly good if that makes any sense. the service was very good as well. be prepared to ask for extra napkins; you’re eating at a smoke house, please use your hands like everyone else. they give you hot towels to clean your hands off afterwards anyway.

In the sprawling monstrosity that is The District sits Lucille’s like an island w/nothing around it (but more and more parking). i came here for a late lunch during the weekend, and was pleasantly surprised by how much i enjoyed the BBQ, the fun and casual ambiance (very family friendly), and the friendly service. the serving sizes are ridiculously large, and the quality of the food is satisfying (NOTHING like The Outback, as the previous reviewer stated). albeit it being a chain, i’d return again for a meaty lunch or dinner.
